Contract the whole freaking team or send them somewhere else.  Perennial losers is all they'll be at this rate.  Not even losers, bottom heap team forevermore!

I think this is premature.

It's meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, but honestly up until this point I think most fans were cautiously neutral on him.  I think this puts his public opinion poll firmly into negative territory.

I think he is working with a joke of a budget, which is likely why Kasten left.

I guess the plan is now for the lerners to feed rizzo to the wolves in a year or two.

Adds Morse, Ramos, Burnett, Strasburg, Harper, Storen, and extends Zimmerman.  Unearths others for a good bullpen out of nowhere.  Lucks out on Livan pitching out of his mind.

Loses Hanrahan, Capps and Dunn.

Has 3 months until spring training.

Prior to Dunn being cautiously neutral was stupid.  Right now it's warranted contingent upon the remaining 3 months.

I'm telling you what I think public opinion says, not what I think it should say.  And even so, it's going to take a herculean effort by Rizzo to turn the offseason around at this point.  Merely a very good effort will only maintain the status quo.

Yep, it ranks right up there with drafting Tom Brady in the 6th round!

And yet the "conventional wisdom" will claim cheap owners.  You guys can't have it both ways.

so by paying money for draft picks they aren't cheap? Never mind the lack of big name international or free agent signings

I don't have a negative opinion of Rizzo after this move.  It usually takes years to evaluate GMs.  Dunn was also probably not worth $56m/4 years to any NL franchise, including the Nats.  That said, next year is going to suck because of this move.  A lot.

But would it actually have taken 56 if they were willing to offer the 4th year?

Unbelievable. This is what the Lerners want people to cite as evidence that they aren't cheap.
