Loria and Samson sit up in their bed together each night, thinking up classless things to do the next day.

Cox comes across a bit like he's expecting a present though.

I don't get that impression at all.  His rep is that he is perhaps the most approachable manager in the game, always available.

Samson, when questioned, was very curt and his usual obnoxious self (Marlins FO is the Armpit of South Florida, and Samson is the a$$hole of the Marlins FO).  The Marlins are the only team not of offer any congratulations whatsoever, at least from the FO.  Helms said the players are planning something for Cox in Atlanta regardless of Loria's feelings.  Cox was Helms rookie manager.

Padres end their slide. Tim Stauffer and the Pads bullpen are real men.

This is pretty random... If the Red Sox trade Papelbon, do you guys think his next team will try to make him a starter again? I was looking at his Minor League numbers. Dude was a damn good starter.

CarGo jacks a 3-R HR.  He's now 3 back of Pujols for the NL lead and ahead of Votto for the RBI lead (and he's batting .340).

I am so glad I got him in the 13th round of my rotisserie league.

So let me get this straight.  The Woes beat CC Sabathia at Yankee Stadium but we lose to someone named Gee, at home.  :|

...and this was their fourth win in a row.  >:(

Hoffman just picked up save 600.

In the process, he just cot me a save from Axford, in my fantasy playoffs.

Congrats to Trevor!

James McDonald threw seven shut-out innings against the Braves. He needs to get his pitch counts way down, but I still think he's going to be very good.

Love him.

Horrible move by the Dodgers to give him up.

They've given up Josh Bell, Carlos Santana, Lucas May, James McDonald, Blake DeWitt, and others that I can't think of in numerous trades for mediocre players. Very poor player management in LA.

So Philly takes over the NL East (gag) and the Padres hold on to their lead despite a SF win. Someone kill me if Philly makes it to the playoffs. I'd rather see the Yankees win the series again than just have Philly make it to the playoffs. But unfortunately, at this rate it'll take a miracle for them to not win the division, never mind the wild card spot as a backup. Argh.

Phillies are going to run away with the East.  Braves have zero offense and a shoddy rotation.

Yeah but look at the returns they got on Andruw Jones & Jason Schmidt  :stir:

Talk about pressure

Quote
Choo has been named to South Korea's final 24-man roster for November's Asian Games, in which more than just national pride will be on the line for the Indians outfielder. If Choo's team is able to capture the gold medal in the Games, which take place in China in November, then Choo would likely receive an exemption from the South Korean military.

All able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve two years in the military by the end of their 30th year. Choo turned 28 in July, so his clock is ticking. He has made it clear he has no intention of giving up two years of his baseball prime to fulfill the obligation. A last-ditch option would be to simply not return to South Korea and begin the process of becoming an American citizen. But Choo, who resides in Buckeye, Ariz., views the Asian Games as the most logical solution to his predicament.

Even if he doesn't win... he'll just become an American citizen.

Still, I can't imagine the pressure, win, and you're out of the army, or lose, and leave your home country forever.

because that's an easy process that you can ensure happens before the deadline, the whole being able to return home might mean something to him too

I'm just saying, I'll bet you any amount of money that he never goes into the military during his playing career.
