He must live in one hell of a deep cave with no outside news sources.  Oh wait, he lives in St Louis...

now that francoeur has been traded for joaquin arias, nobody can claim the mets made no moves during this season.

It looks like another of Beinfest 1st round picks is now out of baseball - Red Sox released Hermida from their AAA squad tonight.

Sounds like the Mets win that trade.

I've always liked Arias.  He's just stuck behind Kinsler and Andrus.  He get to play a few games, and if he does not hit the ground running, Washington goes to Blanco or brings in a Guzman.

It's funny though that the Rangers need Francouer.  When healthy, they can't play all their outfielders.  Both Borbon and Murphy shoud start.  however, the "when healthy" is huge when you have Cruz and Hamilton.

Hamilton, BTW, is getting another Synvisc injection for his knee. this is the same stuff Mike Lowell uses for his hip labrum. IT is a syntheitc lubricant.  I don't know about whether A-Rod and Utley use it as well.  If there is a med expert out there, add a comment. Is it an indication of something chronic or degeneration?

I thought it was weird that they were injecting oil into his knee to keep it healthy.

Once again, can Hamilton even undergo a surgery without fear of relapse?

No, an addict has to be careful to not relapse the rest of his/her life.  As long as he has good accountability and checks in his life, he should be ok, but that fear/reality will always be there for him.

Cliff Lee has back trouble. I like how the Rangers' doctor is Keith Dudemeister from Scrubs.

Over the last quarter of the season, Uggla is one PA away from having a sub .500 OPS, advancing only 4 of 38 baserunners.  Has either struck out or GIDP in  45% of his AB.  He'd been having a good year, but has been hideous, even by his prior year standards, the past couple weeks.

CarGo tonight - 3/4, 2-2B, 2-RBI, R, SB

He's going to run away with the MVP award at the rate he's going.

I'm rooting for him to get the Triple Crown. I don't think he'll hit enough homers, though.
