In recent years, their dump-offs have mostly made sense. Nate McLouth was a great move, he's in like AAA right now. They got one of SF's top SP prospects (forget who) for Sanchez as well.

Huntington is a lot smarter than any of the GM's they've had in the past. He actually has a plan and is sticking to it.

That would be Wil Nieves.

There were better options available. If I were them, I would have tried to get Adam LaRoche again.

They don't want to pay laroche for the rest of his contract.  Lee's a free agent after the year.

LaRoche is only 7.5m next year or a 1.5m buyout.  His contract is done after 2011.

It's still a comittment beyond the end of the year.  They don't have that with DLee.  Especially if they have a kid in the minors they intend to fill the spot or have another route they want to go.  Why would they commit any thing beyond this season if they don't have to?

Derek Lee sucks.  How old are the Braves?  No young talent.  Bunch of dinosaurs.  Phillies are going to win the division.

You're not counting Hanson or Heyward.

I still like ATL to win the division.  I like their rotation better and their bullpen is deeper.

Heyward is way overrated.  Hanson is decent, nothing special.  Braves best young player is McCann, but he will eat his way out of the league in 3 years.

career 3.17 era, 1.2 WHIP, seems pretty special to me

In my game of OOTP 12, my Brewers faced the Braves in the 2011 NLCS, and Tommy Hanson devoured us. I think we scored 1 run off him in 2 games.

I didn't know that LaRoche has another year on his deal. I thought he was a one-year deal.

In my game of OOTP 12,...

I'm assuming you mean OOTP 11. If not, how did you get an early release?

Is 11 worth moving to? My OOTP online league has been using OOTP 10 for two seasons now... we're nearing our 20th season and we're about to switch over to 11... is it worth the switch? Or should we stick with 10 till 12 comes out?

I didn't play 10, but gosh, I love this game. I think the main difference between 10 and 11 is that they overhauled the draft system, but the features list also says that they added owner personalities (my owner as the Brewers is generous, but demands a lot) and added FIP, ERA+, and UZR.

We should start an OOTP thread. I'm just dying to share my team with people. My rotation has Greinke, Gallardo, and Cliff Lee, and they aren't even my ace.

I only play with fictional players... that way, I don't get pissed when the game doesn't have a real life player produce like I think he should.

I'll take both those players. Heyward just turned 21 a couple of days ago and is already sporting a .801 OPS. Better than anything we've thrown out in RF in a while.

Haha... I'm pretty amused/interested by how the game's talent change randomizer can work sometimes. For instance, Ryan Braun is batting .340 for me and on pace for 50 homers, and Nate Schierholtz has blossomed into a borderline superstar, but Roy Oswalt is an utter crap long reliever with a 10+ ERA and 86 mph fastball. In 2012.
