Wow I'm tarded I could have sworn it was a 2-door! Probs because the older ones were? (before the American one)

Europe gets a lot more models and types of small cars.  In Europe, they can get the 2 in a 3 door or 5 door, plus they have a number of different engine options to choose from.  The US only gets the 5 door, and only gets offered the 100 horse 1.5L gas engine.

The 2011 5 does have the 7th seat, which is awesome. There's a bunch of other models of the 5 in europe, the Grand C-Max and S-Max by Ford, which I really wish you could get here.

One of the two is coming.  I want to say S-Max, but I'm not sure.  Along with a new global model Focus, no more awesomeness for Europe and crap box for us.

Pretty sure it's the Grand C-Max, which is a start.

The mini is way small.  It's not power that I'd be talking about with the I5.  I'm fine with my car's 2.3l I4.  It's just that 5 is not an even number, so I'd be curious to the smoothness of the engine, plus the rev limiter is something like 5800 RPM.  When I'm driving "spiritedly" in my car, I take it to just about 7000.  bbbwwwwwaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! *shift* bbbaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! *shift*  bwwaaaAAAAHHHH!

6200 redline.  Not sure about the limiter.  Either way sounds like you're too accustomed to driving rice :P

Hmm, I thought it was 5800.  6200 isn't that bad, I guess.  How's the NVH though?

Are you asking about the engine or the overall ride?  I might lack the proper perspective on that as my last car was 20 years old

The reason is two fold.  One is that they think that American tastes in design are different than in Europe.  Yes, they think that Americans would prefer to drive this:

over, say this:

Though I'd love to have this:

The second reason is that they don't think Americans will pay very much for a small car.  In America, small car usually equals cheap car.  It doesn't matter that European Focus has more features than say a loaded Accord, it's a small car and thus should be dirt cheap.  Cars like the Mini have shown that maybe that perception is changing, and that Americans would be willing to pay higher prices for a more premium small car.

You have to pay to reset it every time you rotate the tires. That certainly could have been designed better. It's a moneymaker and it sucks.

Hmm, can't say I'd know, all that stuff is covered under no-cost maintenance for me.  Granted I know next to nothing about how exactly TPMS works but why would they need to reset anything?

Each wheel has a unique identifier. Changing the order gums up the works. It's a scam. No one would design them that poorly on purpose. If you have snow tires on different wheels, or change the tires on your wheels, again, a reset is necessary.

I suspect you have a fancier TPMS than I do.  Mine just gives you a general low pressure icon, so it seems unlikely that there would be anything tire-specific to reset.

A friend of mine just told me his has been blinking for 4 years. I'm telling you,  it's a moneymaker.

That's why you have a routine where you check your pressure on a regular basis.

You've never debated whether or not your had gone flat while driving? I find that hard to believe. What if you hit a nail and have a slow leak?

So far when mine has gone off, a quick trip to the nearest air pump has taken care of it until the tires get low again.  Guess having a lower trim worked in my favor

I've had front tire blow outs on motorcycles. Why not buy self sealing tires if you're worried. With a wife and kid(s) it may not be a bad idea anyway.

Run-flats come with their own set of problems. TPMS+a spare+Allstate motor club is pretty safe.
