OMFG look at UZR/150 - he only played half a season.

I didn't know a historic season only took half a year to count.

Joe Mauer just called. He hit .373 the first half of the year and only .358 in the second half.

He said his second half doesn't count. Because according to you... a player only needs a half year to have a great season.

Just give up.

You are seriously sportsfanning - I don't have time for it. You can declare you won WNFF if it makes you feel better, but the left side of the Nats OF is superior, and they will win more games than Cleveland.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how the Nats roster is better than the Indians?

I already laid it out. Should be easy to refute... oh wait... the Nats don't have as much talent.

46 games of Morgan were more valuable offensively than the whole season of Guttierez. This is silliness.

Lets prove you wrong as well.

Talent projected to be on the 25 man at the start of the season...

C - Santana/Marston > Rodriguez/Flores (Santana is the best catching prospect in all of baseball, Flores can't stay healthy)

1B - Dunn > Laporta (for now)

2B - Valbuena > Nats (Nats don't even have a 2B right now... so I'm right)

SS - Cabrera > Guzman, Desmond (Not even close. Cabrera is a force)

3B - Zimmerman > Marte (Not close)

LF - Willingham > Brantley (Indians don't have a LF... Brantley will battle for job)

CF - Sizemore > Morgan (Sizemore is a superstar, Morgan is solid... but not great)

RF - Choo > Dukes (Not even close. Choo is one of the best hitters in baseball)

SP - Westbrook, Laffey, Carmona, Masterson, Rondon > Marquis, Lannon, Detwiler, whoever 4 and 5 are (Indians not only have more major league starting talent, their system is also stronger at pitching than the Nats)

CL - Wood > Capps (Wood can and has been an elite closer. Capps hasn't shown that)
I like the Nats rotation better. Same with bullpen. Wood wasn't that money last year (neither was Capps).

Marquis >>>>>>>>> Westbrook
Lannan >>>>>>>>> Laffey
Washington #3-5 SPs ~ Cleveland #3-5 SPs

But despite all that until the Nats prove it on the field and produce it doesn't mean anything. They are the worst team in baseball two years running.

What does that have to do with defense.

Answer the question... who had the ACTUAL best defensive season among all fielders last year.

Nyjer Morgan was the best CF. That's what I said. The team sucked without him.

The stronger hand bones of Gutierrez made him more valuable, but next season it's no question.

Our offense will probably be better than the Indians. Don't know about the pitching.

Lannan = Laffey (IMO) Same type of pitcher. Will probably put up similar numbers this season.
Marquis > Westbrook right now
Carmona hasn't been the guy everyone expected him to be. He was awesome in '07.

Outside of Wood being better than Capps, I think we have the better bullpen. Sipp had a great season for them last year, though.

there really is no debating this,

but you could easily argue that Marquis~Westbrook and Carmona > Detwiler (he's at least done it once) Masterson > Stamen/whoever

Westbrook is better than Marquis.

Career numbers here - Westbrook all in the AL. Marquis all in the NL

Westbrook
63-64, 4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 1.78 K/BB, ERA+ 102

Marquis
94-83, 4.48 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 1.50 K/BB, ERA+ 99

Westbrook is a more talented pitcher that has produced better results than Marquis has in a lack luster league (NL)

Lannan > Laffey - Both are pitch to contact guys.

Indians 3-5 > Nats 3-5 - Carmona is a 19 game winner. Give me his talent over any of the rookies the Nats run out there this year (excluding Strasburg because he's not going to start the year on the 25 man roster)

According to uzr/stats, Gutierrez had the better season... Id still take Morgan over him. He's freaking great in the field and makes our offense better by getting on base and being a threat. Besides, Morgan gets on base alot more than Gutierrez as well.

I understand your arguing for Gutierrez but why? Hes not helping out your Indians anymore.

Also Kearns and Rivera. Indians are BONED. Their closer will be Rivera and Kearns will be starting in RF and batting cleanup.

correct. Lannan has made 30 starts two straight years in the Majors while posting a 3.89 ERA.

Laffey hasn't even made 20 starts in a single season yet and his ERA over the last two years is 4.35, .46 runs higher than Lannan's.

I think a guy like Stammen could be comparable to Laffey in the near future. if not better.

When was the last time Westbrook pitched in the Majors?

Masterson should be a reliever and is an injury risk.

Because he said Morgan was the best fielder... and I was just pointing out he wasn't.

It didn't hurt that Franklin used to be an Indian... but even if it was say Beltran I'd still be making the same argument.

Looks to me like all the digressive blah blah needs to cease and a couple (or a few) people need to put their money where their mouth is.

Who finishes 2010 with a better record?  Nats or Indians?

Place your bets gentlemen, because I'm getting tired of all this biased posturing.
