Who are you figuring to be the 3rd? Without going back into the 25 man roster thread would it be Stammen or Olsen?

Olsen then Wang in May. Stammen is probably 4th, or 3d if Olsen is not ready.

From our friend Ben:
http://masnsports.com/2010/02/pontificating-about-pitching.html
Quote
Scott Olsen was also in the bullpen this morning, throwing about 40 pitches and McCatty said the left-hander, who is coming off shoulder surgery, looked comfortable. Olsen struggled to get his velocity up last spring, and the issue lingered into the season until injuries finally shut Olsen down. But he had said last week he was throwing at about 80 percent of his capacity, and McCatty was pleased.

"It's really hard to tell and judge a guy," McCatty said. "I think if he says he's about 80 percent, that's probably where he's at. But I'm real happy. It's an awful big piece if he throws like he's capable of throwing."

Whatever happened to Mock being the #3 starter? Wasn't that the rumor just a week ago?

Sometimes the question is asked, to paraphrase - "if you had to set your rotation today, who would be your starting 5?"

In the case of the Nats, the competition for the 3 slots is so incredibly wide open, that such idle speculation before the start of ST has just about nil value.

How can you prove it? I don't see why you need to anyways. You shouldn't care what anyone thinks. It is a fact in your mind.

For the right price Washburn would be fine- he's at least on par with Marquis (who everyone seems to want to anoint as the next Walter Johnson) and less of a risk than Wang

Locking this down as most discussion is now being duplicated in the spring training thread anyway (found here - http://www.wnff.net/index.php/topic,16790)
