Spend that money on Wang and Garland.

Maybe the scouts saw something they didn't like, and rumor was Sheets was not forthcoming with medical info, so the team may have dodged a bullet.

I just heard on XM that it's in the $8MM range. To me, that's an easy gamble to take. If it's $8MM per, the Nats blew it.

If you want to make a come back as a pitcher, Oakland's a great park to do it in. Who knows, maybe he has a relationship with their pitching coach or medical staff

It's not my money, obviously I would like to have signed him at any price, but we knew the chances of signing him weren't going to be very great. 10 million is a good amount of change, but if Sheets is healthy, he's worth it.

Get Garland or one of the other guys. Nats need another starting pitcher.

I haven't seen this previously discussed but Rick Ankiel said before signing with KC that the Nationals were in it. Rizzo is not sitting still and I have to agree with the vast majority of posters here that we need to sign Garland. Also would like to see Hudson on board but not at any price. We already have Guzman for that slot.

I am not comfortable with the "prospects " filling both the 4 and 5 spots in the rotation. Of course an injury to one of the "locks" and I think Olsen is being counted on as the fourth SP would necessitate that happening .
