Doug Davis would be a decent pick up. I just hope we can improve our defense so we aren't tossing games away left and right.

JCA, it's Syracuse, not Pawtucket, my friend. :)
He's struggling against those inner demons.

Well, at least I got the league right.

Or, Joel Piniero! I don't think I can pimp out that guys name anymore than I have this off-season!
I see you keep pimping this guy, but I can't for the life of my find any stats on him.  Is he a minor leaguer or something?

He's a player I created in my mind! He's got the velocity of Strasburg and the control of Maddux. Just filthy!

Honestly thinking about it... I don't think I've spelled Pineiro's name right once this offseason. No wonder you guys have had a hard time seeing my point!

It's been wrong most times I've seen you post about him, hence the snarky comment :)

I do think he would be a nice addition.  I'd like for us to get one more quality starter in addition to some MI help.

Sorry, I don't understand the question? I was referring to the fact that if your jokes ever need to be explained to sportsfan, I'll be there.

The Diamondbacks are "close to a deal with" Kelly Johnson. If I'm Mike Rizzo, I pick up the phone and ask what they're planning to do with Augie Ojeda.

Was that intentional?   I thought you were making fun of me for using the wrong word.

That was intentional as a tip of the hat to your Spelling Police Squad status. My name is Detective-Sergeant Semicolon, by the way.

xFIP is a better predictor of pitching skill than either ERA, FIP, or tRA, according to THT.

The whole concept of only taking Ks, BBs, and HRs is a bit ridiculous to me. I'm 99% sure that a majority of the results on a play are not one of those options, so you're being selective in your selection.

I wonder what it would take to get Augie Ojeda?  His defense looks to be pretty good based on UZR.  I think.  I don't really know how to read those types of stats.

Comment from the top of Augie Ojeda's Baseball-Reference.com page

"If Honus Wagner had a 'Mini Me', this guy is it"

How many Augie O baseball cards are equal to one of The Flying Dutchman?

Am I the only one getting a desperation vibe from the Muts? This Jason Bay signing seems like a huge mistake, and they really overpaid him IMO. Are we finally transitioning to an era where we're no longer the laughing stock of the NL East?

It looks that way but until we prove it on the baseball field we are still the laughingstock of the entire MLB.

The Mets are not very good. Florida should be average along with Atlanta. Philly is a threat.
