Sorry SF...I would take Marquis in a second. I know it's not possible, but wouldn't it be nice if we got Marquis and Garland? I know, I know..but it's nice to dream.
My point exactly. Even though Marquis has the NY thing, if your logic is, "Marquis will want to play for a winner" then same goes for Garland.
I'm not down for Marquis.Much rather have Pineiro and someone like Doug Davis.
I think I remember that Marquis has been to the playoffs every single year of his career.
PANats's recent posts, summarized:"blah blah blah Jewish blah blah blah"
That's SF's proven winner requirement. WTF?The guy is a good swingman. Everyone was ok with Livo coming back. Marquis is a younger, healthier, somewhat better, Jewish Livo. What's the problem?
Toronto expressed interest in Craig Stammen, but the Nats are not expected to trade him.
Craig Stammen could be valuable in the rotation or as a reliever for the Nationals.
Rizzo: 'Livan Hernandez is a guy we've always liked. He's one of many pitchers we're interested in.'
Rizzo: 'We still have to make decisions...to open roster spots before Rule 5 Draft and Saturday's tender deadline.'
Rizzo: 'there is a larger pool of available second basemen than shortstops.'
Rizzo: 'we'll be up late tonight talking to agents and other teams.'
Rizzo: 'We have a lot of irons in the fire.'
ok. that's right. well it sounds like Riz is interested in making at least one pick.
His doing everything right so far. In on ALL the free agents up to a point, not just 1 big fish. Signing the pieces we need. I'm happy.
ballystar40: Great workout, Man is it Spring Training yet?? Im ready to Nail down a Starting Spot!!!
Bill Ladson: @ballystar40 Ready to be a reliever?
ballystar40: @Bill Ladson ive heard nothing about that, Im getting ready to win a spot
was that unintentional by ladson, or was that a jab at balester? ladson doesnt seem the type.
