Maybe we could trade for the Nyjer Morgan guy who's tearing it up (.344 /.391 /.563 ) for the Brewers.  He could be our answer at leadoff / CF, and he's a little bit chippy from time to time.

Joking aside, Harper seems well-liked by HIS teammates.  That's the difference between him and Morgan.

Nyjer tearing it up in limited at-bats, moving from a superutility role to leadoff hitter.  Team manager says, "well, I know he didn't work out in his previous organization, but that's just because he was unhappy there.  He's really turned a corner and has a real chance to shine here.  And his clubhouse personality is infectious!  Tony Plush, what will he think of next?"

Where have I seen this story before...

It's different this time, it's not a sequel, it's a reboot!

Did he take his silver Elvis wig with him?  I'd like to see Prince Fielder wearing that stupid thing.

That's what Wilson "the Rhino" Ramos displayed the other night with his slo-mo trot. Harper's display bordered on narcissism.

Whatever. freak 'em. We need some personality and a "freak you" attitude on this team.

That said, making a smooch face at the pitcher is classic.
Absolutely hilarious. This is mild stuff compared to Basketball, but I think after all the BS of the pitcher hitting our players - this is a well deserved antic/silent comment by a player -a smoochie, smoochie - instead of a fist.....laughed my head off when I saw this on Yardbr. Early Bird Release..... :mg:

I hope the AA pitchers blow kisses at him after they strike him out on three straight curveballs.  I like Bryce but that's a really, really dumb thing to do.  A fastball to the hands or elbow could derail his career.

Sooo..... Would you say Marquis hitting the batter and getting ejected from the game was a dumb thing to do? Or unofficial retribution for the other pitcher hitting one of our guys?
Remember Bryce was in a game with a pitcher who was playing Dodge-Ball, instead of Baseball.... :mg:

Neither, it was about the 4th pitch in a row that was wild right of the plate, though the previous batter was a left-handed one.  I firmly believe the ball just got away from him during a lapse in control he was going through.

The attention this has gotten is sickening. You have jerks that don't know crap about baseball like Chad Dukes talking trash about Harper like he knows what he's talking about. ESPN too. Pathetic.

He did nothing freaking wrong. The pitcher said something to him as he rounding third so Harper turned around and blew a kiss. Big freaking deal, who gives a crap.

All of these snobby ass baseball nerds should go kill themselves. The game has changed. Baseball needs more great personalities like Harper. That's what it is keeping it from becoming as popular as the NFL.

And oh yeah, Harper is batting .342/.435/.623 with 14 HRs, 42 RBIs, and 12 SBs in his first full season stint. That's all that freaking matters.

Agreed, but the media needs something to talk about and Harper has just enough mischief  in him to cause an occasional uproar...It's gonna be fun when he gets to the Major League Club.... :stir:       :mg:

If this was someone on the Phillies blowing a kiss to Lannan you'd be all over this saying he should be banned from baseball.

freaking hypocrite.  :lmao:

Totally agree with this.  He needs to develop a thicker skin, because other teams see it's easy to annoy and distract him and they obviously are doing a lot of chirping.
I agree with this - the quicker he gets over himself and realizes that many of the guys harassing him are as close to the show as they'll ever be, Harper will be better off. He needs to just ignore it - which is probably hard to do as an 18yo. He needs to take the crap he's getting and turn it into more focus - he cannot let it distract him. If he's going to stand for ~4-5 seconds and watch his homer that means he's been thinking about it. I'd rather that he hit his bomb, put his head down, ignore the crap and then just do it again.

The Craig Calcaterra at NBC Sports note that if Harper can tune this external stuff out - he'll be a cold-blooded assassin.

As for Harper's antics - isn't that what Daubach was brought into Hagerstown to take control of?
