Yeah I was definitely pretty terrible there, of course I was at the low end of the level bracket and a bit inebriated at the time

I put all of my video games and consoles in my attic. I'm no longer interested. I'd rather exercise, watch baseball, use the Internet, listen to music, sleep, or do numerous things rather than play video games now. It certainly doesn't help that all of the games released now are either stupid party games or variations on the tired sci-fi first person shooter.

lol people say real life like people who play mmo's don't. What you mean is you lack the free time and/or interest to play an mmo.

The average person to play an MMO uses the same time as someone who plays a game online on console. They put in the same hours a day - at least from my knowledge and experience.

Don't get me started on online play. It ruined the single player game as we knew it.

Yeah. It definitely did IMO. Like, I am a victim of it. I played so much online with friends through highschool and college that I cannot play online as much without knowing I have a team of 4 reliable friends... Then, aside from that, I don't play single player anything unless its an RPG (which is rare in itself). I got Dead Space 2 two months ago and I'm like 4 chapters in. I think when the summer comes I'll beat that game but still, taking me this long is pathetic. I also rarely play franchises in sports games since I find online more competitive.

Another thing I've come to despise is the Wii. It was kind of neat when it first came out, but it has very few good games, many of which are severely hampered (Twilight Princess.) by the awful controls that the Wiimote forces on us. Still, it did have some gems, like the Mario Galaxies, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Super Paper Mario, and a few others that won't come to mind; HOWEVER, for every one of those good games, THERE ARE FIFTEEN crappy "PARTY GAMES", and therein lies my hatred for the Wii, because those abominations were successful enough to make Sony and Microsoft make their own Wii-like gimmicks, thus ruining gaming forever by dumbing it down for the ignorant masses.

I'm angry at the lack of Far Cry henchmen: "I'm going to shoot you in the face!"

The Winback one was awesome. I remember that exact scene.

MW3 looks pretty fun. I never expected the Modern Warfare series to become a "WWIII" type game after the first one and I sure as hell wasn't expecting the Russians to invade DC in the second... Looking forward to it. Price better be in it again.

Still expecting Battlefield 3 to be the better multiplayer game though.

Battlefield 3 is going to blow MW3 out of the water. It won't even be close, especially in multiplayer. The COD series online has become a terrible kid-infested game that is ridiculous. BF3 will be fantastic, graphically and gameplay wise. BF2 is still the best online shooter I've ever played.

Far Cry is on sale on Steam right now for $2.50.  Awesome bargain for a fun shooter.  Far Cry 2 is on sale as well, or a package deal for both for $7.50, but I've only ever heard bad things about FC2.

Funny, I read an article earlier today that said essentially the same thing:

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/05/modern-warfare-3-vs-battlefield-3-the-difference-is-in-the-pc.ars

Quote
While we don't have many details on the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer yet, Activision is a conservative company that doesn't like to monkey around with a successful formula. The teams are going to be small, the game is going to be ultra-competitive, and things are going to rapidly devolve into min-maxing teenagers who will call you an ethnic slur if you don't have one of the agreed-upon loadouts for the best destruction. When I play Black Ops these days I feel like I'm punishing myself. With players that already know where to go and what to do, the game often feels like players picking between a limited number of already-effective strategies. It's just not my thing, and I know many of you feel the same way.

Bolded part made me  because it's so so true.
