Alright, I finally pulled the trigger and bought LA Noire today for $39 at Best Buy for the PS3.  How's everyone like it?

Heard it was like watching a movie... but pretty damn boring.

i won't have my 360 till probably monday or tuesday, but I went ahead and made my gamertag since I already have a windows live id.

my Gamertag is JMad4

you guys can friend me up if you like.

can someone tell me how to find the Official Gamercards, from XBox.com? I can't figure out how to generate mine, or do I need to use a third-party site?

I believe you have to use a third-party site because I haven't seen how to do it on xbox either.

McNei1y is my gamertag.

Finally, finally, finally got around to playing Epic Mickey for the Wii. It's... Interesting. Definitely a ton better than I expected, I expected it to be far more childish. It's pretty easy, but also there's a ton of gameplay, some interesting characters and story, and it's fun. Definitely far more enjoyable than I expected, anticipating a massive letdown after the awesomeness of Kingdom Hearts. Quite frankly, Kingdom Hearts has all the positives where this game has negatives, and vice versa. If only one could merge these two games, you'd have a freaking awesome Disney RPG. This game plays a ton like the Paper Mario series, which is definitely a plus in my book. Just wish it had some more hardcore RPG gameplay elements.

Patch 4.2 of wow brings a lot of stuff but one thing I noticed that was cool is that Refer a Friend system is being extended to level 80 as well as more increased XP.

According to MMO it increased from what it normally was. They also sent out RAF codes to people to give to friends but I didn't get one :(

a Shooter.  which shooter should I rent and why?

Here are three that I recommend:

Left 4 Dead 2 - Amazing multiplayer experience IMO. (if you haven't played this for PC/PS3) - 4 v 4 style with normal FPS shooter for the survivors. Then for the infected its 6 special type of zombies that have different abilities. Very addicting game.

Halo Reach - Your basic shooter with a few equipment type things. Nothing new really different about it, just more Halo with minor features such as jet packs or cloaking or sprint. I love the user maps though.

Gears of War 2 - The games been out for like 2-3 years now so I don't know how many people play it but I loved this game when it first came out. Very gory, very fun, the weapons are all cool, the controls are pretty simple as well.

I saw they have a GoW pack that has the original game, GoW2, and the GoW2 xpac stuff for $30.  Thought about picking it up even though I already have GoW.

Left 4 Dead 2

How much better than the L4D is part 2?  I've been on the fence about buying and just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Get the GoW pack, fool!  Then we can go on a co-op rampage.  I've only played through the first one up through hard, I haven't done it yet on the max difficulty.

Is it PS3 or Xbox 360 only?  I've got both but Mrs. de Sade is on a Fable III kick so the XBox is taken for the time being.

L4D2 is pretty cool. They just released pretty much all of the L4D1 content for 2. 2 has newer guns, newer infected, 5 new levels then 2-4 of the old ones. It's a pretty damn awesome pack.

I don't hate it. He just got a 360 though so I am recommending 360 shooters for him. COD/MW2 series is also on PS3.
