I missed Yoan Moncada signing with the Angels. That was the last 3rd baseman I was interested in. 1 year, $5 million. I guess there's still Paul DeJong

House is a much better fit for the rest of this roster...

I want a placeholder while the minor leaguers develop. I guess it's just Tena and Amed. I wanted more defense

Per this: The Astros Red Sox, and Tigers have at least four year offers to Bregman but all are under his asking price. The Cubs are only willing to offer 3 years.

Mlb.com saying he will "choose soon" among Cubs, Tigers, and Red Sox.

Hard to imagine he'd opt out of $40 million per year. I wonder how this lines up for luxury tax thresholds. I guess he will be off the books before Duran, Anthony, Mayer, etc... get expensive.

Olney says the NPV of Bregman's deal is around $90 million due to deferrals. Heyman says the Tigers offered him 6/$171.5M with an opt-out after 2026

He must really want to hit in Fenway. I think I saw in either Janes's or Clemens's article that he has the highest ops in fenway of any active player. More than Stanton or Judge. The Detroit deal looks better unless he thinks there's another 3 years $90 million after this when he is 34.

He does. He is hoping that Fenway will hide the drop in power, then he can sucker a team into a long term deal.

A little over a quarter of the way through the season, how does the 2024-25 off-season look? Below are the bigger deals, those with over a $10 million AAV. A few of what look like good deals, like Bregman and Alonso; a few apparent bad ones, and a lot where the jury is still out. Any other surprises come to mind from lower priced deals? Corbin, I suppose, counts.
