You only have a handful of teams actually trying.

Sorry, but Ohtani's agent offered that deal to everyone. And every freaking team in baseball could have afforded to match it. Likewise, every team in baseball could have afforded Yamamato. Heck, the Yankees balked because they didn't want to pay him more than Cole.

Sasaki is going to the Dodgers because they invested in Japanese players and a development system that knows how to get the most out of talent.

California has a large Japanese population and Los Angelos has the largest in the state I believe. Ohtani wasn't leaving California

The NBAs TV ratings have been consistently falling. Its down like 20%
It’s because we don’t have dominant teams. And still better than MLB.

I think you’re missing the point. NBA grew popular due to dominant teams. Was Lakers and Celtics. Then the Pistons and Lakers. Then Jordan’s Bulls. More recently Lebron on various teams. And then Curry and the Warriors. Last couple years you don’t have that. Of course ratings are down.

Yes. Same for most of the other Japanese players.

Why?  The NBA has gotten popular over the years with just a couple teams competing and dominant teams.  Fools will still show to watch the other teams and TV ratings will rise to see of anyone can upset the Dodgers.  Which will lead to bigger national tv contracts.  More concerts this year for Nats fans!

The NBA has far more parity than the mlb. Teams other then the Dodgers in the NL West have no chance in the division anymore

Tbh I feel like MLB is a joke now. Only 5 teams spending, out of 30 lol. One is trying to spend but no one wants to go play for it (Toronto). And correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Sasaki say that he wanted to play for a "small market team" like a month ago? And he signs with LA lol... ridiculous.

Dodgers really are run like an OOTP franchise. More evidence we're all living in a simulation.

When Tanner Scott’s deal is made official, the Dodgers’ luxury-tax payroll for 2025 will exceed $375 million. That is about $70 million more than the next-highest team, Philadelphia. The Yankees are the only other team with a CBT payroll projected to be over $300 million.

The deal is for more than $90MM, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Per Alexander, Santander is actually guaranteed $92.5MM with the ability to get to $110MM, though the deferrals will lower the net present value somewhat. The specifics of those deferrals aren’t publicly known.

Dodgers sign Panamanian prospect Adrian Torres. LHP with a mid-90s FB already. Considered one of the top prospects this year.

Obvious, then - all we have to do is change our name to 'Washington Dodgers' and they'll all be flocking here...   ;)

Dodgers signing Kirby Yates also.  They weren't quite done.
