Oh yeah, the Nats also play on Monday night. It won't be much of a game though since we are facing Hudson.  :?

If the Habs lose the series then we have no shot. What are the odds that two teams come back from being down 3-1 in the NHL playoffs come back and win the series in the same round in one year?  :shock:

Could be a good chance this year. Maybe 100%. Wait until after both series and ask again.

The two outcomes are completely independent of each other.

Great game here between the Wild and Avalanche.  The playoffs have been really good thus far.

Completely independent? How do you figure? Do you know how many times that more than one team has came back from being down 3-1 in a series in one round of the playoffs let alone one year? It's only happened 20 times in NHL History.

One team coming back from 3-1 doesn't an any way change the odds of the other team coming back from the same deficit.

It's like saying that a coin flip has no chance of coming up heads just because your last five flips have come up heads.  Basic probability.

We'll see.  I'd rather see Montreal win anyways. I hate Boston.  Man it'd be great if we could win 2 in a row and then get to face Pitt in the second round. That'd be like the greatest series EVER.

The odds of TWO teams coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the series in the same round of the playoffs is at least 50 to 1 considering that only 20 times in 219 series has a team reached this feat.  Just think about putting 50 different numbers in a hat and then calling out a number aloud and then randomly drawing a number and it being the same number that you just said aloud. The percentage that the Caps and Bruins both win their series is about 2% when using past history. It'd be cool as crap if it happened but is it likely, NO.

I've been to hundreds of loud rock and roll shows where I stood right next to the stacks, so my ears should be acclimated by now, but I've still got partial deafness from the last five minutes of today's game...loudest Caps game ever.
