I'm not going to get a damned thing done today...7:00 cannot come soon enough!

We have a little election going on too. I'm scatterbrained as hell.  The Caps game is going on DVR for me.

Election? Ovi for President! Although with it being the Pennsylvania primary, dont know if that would fly!

It's ok. Sydney Crosby is not an American either, so we are safe.

I predict a 97%+ Caps crowd, which is extremely high for any North American visiting team in Washington.  My non-scientific guesstimate is that Game 5 was about 90-93% Caps fans, which is the best I've ever seen for a Caps game.  Game 2 was about 80/20, not bad considering the large number of transplants living in the area plus that being a weekend game in close proximity to Philly.  Did not make it to Game 1, but it sounds like it was similar to Game 2 in that regard.

It's over. It's all over. Just like that. the power play did them in.

Still, it's been a great ride. There's always next year, and the many years after that with the rebuilding.

I salute the Capitals and Bruce Boudreau.

I would be fine if they got the 2nd goal as a legit goal. But that bullcrap no call interference is bogus. SCREW YOU REFS.

Quite right...much as it sucks to come crashing back to earth (especially as a result of extraordinarily poor officiating...a minor penalty in OT of Game 7??  WHAT THE freak?!???), life must go on.   What a hell of an amazing ride!  And what a crowd tonight...absolutely deafening.

Great season!

Very, very disappointing end to the series but I guess it was to be expected.  Bad penalties and a shotty PK proved to be costly throughout the series. I just cannot believe that we could not score at home in the entire 3rd period and part of OT with so much at stake. I know Biron played well but come on.  Oh well, I think we got a real good shot next year.

Boudreau signed a multi-year extension. That's certainly good news. I hope they do the same to Huet and Fedorov.

Backstrom vs. Toews and Kane for ROY.

I have a feeling Kane will take it, but Backstrom really deserves it, IMO.

"Mike Babcock of the Detroit Red Wings, Bruce Boudreau of the Washington Capitals and Guy Carbonneau of the Montreal Canadiens are the three finalists for the Jack Adams Award, presented to the coach who has "contributed the most to his team's success," the National Hockey League announced Wednesday."
