I cant. I wish I could.  The plus side is I did sell my tickets for a profit. I apologize if they went to Pens fans.

Was it just me, or were the Caps losing the puck behind their own net A LOT?

It seems like Olie goes back there to get/move the puck and there is a lot of miscommunication at times, and Olie really sucks at puck handling

Another game, another brutal loss.  This team just cannot score the ****ing puck.  So many close chances and flurries around the net and nothing to show for it.  Brent Johnson was awesome and really gave the team a chance.  Ovechkin was flying all over the ice and creating havoc.  Other than that, same old sorry garbage.  I don't see how a team who played so good during their first 3 games could look this bad over the next 4.

Yeah, Ovechkin was a man possessed tonight! The shots were a little bit better tonight, but we need to get at least a few of 'em to get through! Better overall game than the last 3, but we need to get those wins.

It seems like if they are creating chances they are playing well. Eventually those pucks will start going in.  Not worried yet

Embarrassing loss tonight by the Caps to end the homestand.  The Caps never had a chance from the start tonight.  They can't score and can't stay out of the penalty box.  Until they fix those glaring issues they will continue to lose.

i only saw from the second period on.  there seemed to be a couple of bogus penalties in the 3rd.  i didnt see brashear do anything to warrant a call that gave the nucks the 3rd goal. after that penalty, the caps took it to them and had lots of chances. whatever, luongo owns them.  i wouldnt say this was embarassing. lackluster, maybe. they only gave up 26 shots.

The Caps ****ing suck.  All of the FA acquisitions and they are just as bad if not worse then they were last year.  The goaltending sucks, the special teams suck, the coaching sucks, etc etc. At least the Caps were in the playoff hunt for a little while last year.  They might be out of it already unless things drastically change.  4-6 after 10 games which a bunch of road games coming up.  Oh well, hopefully they can try for the #1 pick.

Ten games into the season and not even into November, I'd say your concern is warranted, but your despair isn't...just wait for the Rangers, Flyers, and Sabres to all tank by Christmas, then you'll hear some real despair  :icon_mrgreen:

I, personally, thought it was a well fought game by an injury-depleted Caps squad. Semin and Clark would have definitely been great to have in the lineup throughout tonight. Regardless, though, it was a pretty darn entertaining game...just need to get those W's!

I was never much of a game thread frequenter but know you have a very overreactive personality. I do remember one time you came in ripping speigner after that game where the nats made no plays for him in the first inning.  Then I asked if you actually saw the game and you said no.  So I have to ask if you watched any of the Caps games that cause you to refer to them as embarassing and say they f-ing suck?

They have not been outplayed against two decent/quality teams. If they play like they have been, the wins will come.  They were without Semin, Clark, and Poti last night and Poti the night before.  They've hit a rough patch and have a tough near term schedule.  Then we'll get one of those months where we play 10 games against the SE with our healthy guys and get some wins that matter.  Things will even out and I'm glad we are getting our bad luck in western conference games and not eastern or divisional ones. Fine, give two points to the West

Give it some time. They have some new people to work in.  Need to at least see what happens if Backstrom is moved to center and Kozlov to RW, their natural positions.  If they are still crappy after Novemeber and 10 SE games, might need to re-evaluate.

Last night Kozlov whiffed or had the puck jump on a slam dunk and I think Backstrom set up Pettinger for a one-timer from the slot that the goalie just saved.  I'm sure there were probably more chances that I cant remember.  Ovechkin had some one timers on the 5 on 3 that I the goaile somehow saved without a rebound.  Ovechkin is getting his points but I dont think he has actually caught fire yet.  If he didnt have better players this year, Ovechkin would be in a slump.  His timing coordination seems to be a little off. He seems to be skating too fast for himself and leaving the puck behind like he is too hyper.  If Ovechkin gets hot, the Caps will be very hard to beat.

I have watched every game.  I don't care how "well" the Capitals play, a loss is still a loss.  This team has lost 6 out of their last 7 and show no signs of improvement.  They still take too many penalties and still can't score goals.  Yes it is embarrassing to lose 6 out 7 games and to be one of the worst teams in the NHL yet again despite bringing in a slew of free agents.  No way in hell that this team should be worse than last year's team.  They are greatly underachieving.

it is possible to play well and even out play an opponent and still lose. chances are, that over 82 games, if you outplay your opponent, more often than not, you will win.  It just hasnt worked out that way to start the season. Shot totals are not everything but if you looked at last year vs this year:

the caps outshot or equaled their opponent about 20 times with about 4 ties ("about" because of counting errors).
this year the caps have outshot their opponent 7 times in 10 games with 1 tie game

last year the caps gave up 30 or more shots about 69% of the time
this year the caps have given up 30 or more shots 3 times in ten games (30%)

The Caps have played three bad games this year and they none of them have been the last five. I get that a loss is a loss but even though they are losing there is nothing that would make me think this will be a trend

Wow, does the offense look a lot better or is Toronto that bad defensively? Regardless, I'm really liking the puck movement tonight.

Looking good although Toronto gives up more shots than any team in the NHL.  Gotta keep scoring though because Toronto also scores a lot of goals.

Great Win on the road for the Caps tonight.  I wish they would dominate like this more often.  7 goals  :pimp:
