Murphy must have worked off the rust. He is hitting .331 with an .861 OPS. Might have been a good DH/1B for the Nats.

Some details in the Washington Post article about the signing. I'm not sure how the Angels will use Murphy, since they already have a DH, but...

Do the Nats have so much depth at 1B and DH that they could safely ignore Murphy? What if he is hitting again?

It would have been fun to run him out there instead of Dom, but I think they have Matt Adams available as a lefty hitter in Rochester.  They just aren't in the market.

Yes!!! And only a slight difference in salary. Skenes was asked why he waves away hitters he has struck out. He could learn how Max stalks the mound!

Rendon hurt.  Again.  I genuinely don't know whether this has been posted already due to the frequency of injuries/suspensions.

I saw him get hit. They were so thin on infielders that they had him stay in to field even though he could not swing a bat

I think this is his seventh time on the DL since signing with the Angels.

it's all his fault when he gets hit in the wrist.

Rendon jinxed himself. He should have signed with the Nats where fans loved all he had done. That might have kept him from losing his mind last season, when he leaped out of the dugout to take part in a brawl, in spite of injuries. Or kept him from taking a swing at a fan. Now he seems lost.

Bryce Harper’s car was stolen out of the Philly player’s parking lot during last night’s game.

Trevor Gott traded to the Mets.
