Soto should have known the damn things are cursed.
Glad to see Juan warmed up tonight... https://www.espn.com/mlb/recap?gameId=401356397
Career he's had 2601 PAs, and has been in 2 strike counts in 1339. 51.5%. In 2022, he's had 598 PAs and been in 2 strike counts in 299. He's not getting himself into counts where he has to be more aggressive to protect himself (not that he would). You would figure the O-swing % would go up if he were in more 2 strike counts.
Posting this here because Gorman was one of the names bandied about in discussion about the Cards package for Soto. https://www.mlb.com/news/juan-yepez-recalled-nolan-gorman-optioned
To be fair "plummeting" to a .720 OPS would still make him one of the better hitters in our lineup, and, to pick out our current future core, better than Abrams, Ruiz, and García.
Last 7: .423 .545 .769, 2 homers.
Showing signs he could develop into Joey Meneses!
Soto and bell are going to the playoffs.
Hope he saved it all for the Mets!
Soto or Scherzer? Who would we rather see advance? I will say Soto just because I can't stand the Mets.
