I don't want him to spend 2+ years figuring things out at MLB (hello, CJ) so we don't have control of him when he's good. I'd rather run the risk of him being over-ripe. Even if you think AAA is worthless, he's getting beat up by AAAA and lesser pitchers. I'd much rather give Tena a run now than expose House.
CJ was a far more raw hitting prospect, simply due to injury. But also, he hit well in Triple A. So did Luis Garcia. Both of them needed time at the MLB level to develop.
Triple A aint what it was even five years ago. Hitters are learning a false strike zone against weak pitching. House will benefit tremendously from MLB experience. He will know what to work on in the offseason, makenwhatever channges he needs to his swing, and can show that work in Triple A next season.
It would be far worse to have to kick him back down next season while trying to stay competitive in the WC. This entire season was about developing players.
