OPS in Rochester down to .720. I continue to not get the Brady House hype.

Give him time. Small sample size still. Will probably start next year there.

He turned 21 barely two months ago. Personally, I think he should still be in Harrisburg. Not going to complain about him holding his own in AAA at only 21.

I will admit I don't understand projections that he'll be in Washington next Opening Day. They could wait another calendar year to call him up and he'd only be 22! Zero reason to rush him unless he rakes.

Yea. To build on that he’s 5 and a half years younger than the average league age according to baseball reference.

there were suggestions on TalkNats that he would be up this month instead of Crews. I don't think that's plausible.

That just seems to be an awful idea.

If they're desperate to try something different at 3B, call up Tena or Chaparro. Both are hitting better than House in AAA, Tena has had a cup of coffee already in majors, and Chaparro's AAA stats are getting silly.

For a losing team, I see no benefit challenging House when he is doing well for his age but certainly not dominating AAA.

Tena is a much on the 40 man roster as Lipscomb and both have burned an option this year. There's no reason not to swap the two of them.

Another crystal ball insight that turned out to be true.

Re: House, it's not just the low OPS, but the 3/21 BB/K.  He's only 21, no hurry to get him up to DC.

You make it hard for people to stay balanced on House. I'm a big fan and am excited for him. You're on another planet.

And it just doesn't make sense. You come around when he has a couple good games but ignore the 10 in between. House is 4-9 in the last 2 games. Even with that, he's hitting .214 in August. Because before those 2 games, he was 5-33(.151) with 12 K's and 1 walk in 8 games.

He has an OPS of .725 and a 3% walk rate in AAA. There us no reason to promote him right now. He's in the same boat as he was 7-10 days ago  Its great that he's flashing and is holding his own.  But he's not ready.

No reason to waste his time in Triple A. Get him up, get him big league pitching, give him something to work on in the offseason.

Coupled with recency bias...

I do understand it though...this team is a dumpster fire led by arsonists.  Fans are tired of the garbage they're being fed while being told the next course will be better...

It's not gonna be any better when your big moves are bringing back the entire coaching staff and the big FA signing for 2025 is gonna be another version of Joey Gallo...

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think that House's circumstances were the same as Kiebust but bringing him up before he is ready could have long term detrimental consequences. Just because some fans want to showcase the prospects for the last 5-6 weeks of the season it doesn't mean the results will be positive. Patience ....grasshopper.

I don't want him to spend 2+ years figuring things out at MLB (hello, CJ) so we don't have control of him when he's good. I'd rather run the risk of him being over-ripe. Even if you think AAA is worthless, he's getting beat up by AAAA and lesser pitchers. I'd much rather give Tena a run now than expose House.

CJ was a far more raw hitting prospect, simply due to injury. But also, he hit well in Triple A. So did Luis Garcia. Both of them needed time at the MLB level to develop.

Triple A aint what it was even five years ago. Hitters are learning a false strike zone against weak pitching. House will benefit tremendously from MLB experience. He will know what to  work on in the offseason, makenwhatever channges he needs to his swing, and can show that work in Triple A next season.

It would be far worse to have to kick him back down next season while trying to stay competitive in the WC. This entire season was about developing players.

The only thing arguably keeping him down now is that the Nats don't want to have Wood, Crews, and House line up as far as contract length in that they would all need to be extended or traded at the same time.

Quote of the year.

When Darnell Coles gets ahold of House, the dumpster's glow will turn an ever brighter orange.
