Babe House:

bah, more in the Miggy T / A-Roid class for power, minus the juice. I mean, Babe was good, but not a SS.

Babe was willing, but Boston said, "No, no left-hander can play short. Be happy with pitching. We're marketing you as the left-handed Walter Johnson".

Is it actually realistic to have him come up to Fredericksburg in the next week or so? I don't see any reason why not, but I am not sure what is typical here.

House would be a little young. Fred Nats players are mostly 20 and 21, and have either an extra year in pro ball, like Jordy Barley at SS, or, like Darren Baker, have some college ball.

That's judging from their roster: https://www.milb.com/fredericksburg/roster

That is helpful. I just wonder what the precedence is for guys who are superstars. I looked up the star of stars Mike Trout and see that he played 39 games in the arizona rookie league where he hit .360 but with only 1 HR before being called up for the last 5 games of the season in Low A the year he was drafted. Royce Lewis in 2017 and Manny Machado in 2010 followed similar paths. I didn't look up too many more, but it's certainly not unheard of.

It would not surprise me to see House get a cup of tea in Fredericksburg at this rate.

Rather than a cup of tea, he should get something at The Battlefield Country store, that place has insane ice cream deserts. https://battlefieldcountrystore.business.site/

Definitely a 3b in the long run. I like the fact that he just turned 18, and isn't one of the kids pushing 19 as a high school senior. The power is real, and hes a good athlete for the size. Hopefully he lives up to the hype. We needed impact bats, badly.
Sooo . . . Fill in at 3rd with Kieboom until House is ready?  Viable?

I look forward in 2023 to him getting off to a strong start in Harrisburg and getting an unexpected call up where he either sits on the bench for a week or he gets on the field and the Nats act stunned he is struggling against major league pitching.

sure, which would take Kieboom through about his first or second year of arb.  Alternatively, do you sign a Murphy type for 3 years, shift Kieboom back to second, and Garcia to SS?

Dunno. Neither Kieboom nor Garcia have proven they are worth arbitration

proven?  Of course not.  Worth maybe penciling them in when assembly options for rebuilding?  Decent shot one pans out.  We aren't signing Bryant and Seager and a second baseman.  We've also got Antuna, so figure your high pick for one slot, and hope 2 out of 3 of your top infield prospects are functional,  and that lets you budget your money differently.

Comment on House by Maria Flores in The Athletic:

Quote
Top draft pick Brady House hasn’t homered since he hit three in the span of four games after he made his pro debut last month. But he isn’t showing signs of slowing. Before the rookie-level Nationals played a game against the Astros that was suspended in the second inning, House was batting .394 with a 1.231 OPS in nine games. If he qualified for the Florida Complex League leaderboard, House would rank fifth in batting average and second in OPS.

It's like the Athletic piece above, "OMG HE HASN'T HOMERED IN 5 GAMES!"  Our long Nationals crisis is over.  He still has awesome power for an 18 year old infielder.  IDK if he could take BP over the last weekend at the park.  Maybe have one of our relievers pitch to him.  Their batting practice quality.

this is the last week of the FCL, as well as AA and A levels so it doesn't look like he's getting promoted.

Final line: .322 / .394 / .576, 4HR, 12RBI, 19H, 14R, 59AB

Not too shabby.
