10 earned runs tonight, up to 5.88 ERA, think that puts him back at #1 among starters who qualify

they said before tonight's game that the guy we were facing had he highest BAA versus RHBs. Glad we could help him out.

Man, PC makes you afraid to ever give a big long term contract to a pitcher anytime soon. This signing has been a disaster outside of our WS season.

The D-backs did the right thing DFA'ing Madison Bumgarner when he had nearly two seasons left on a 5 year/$85 million deal.  Hard to see them in the WS last year if they hadn't done that.  Meanwhile, this org insists on playing the contract, so Corbin will get another 9-10 starts.

He takes the ball every 5 days...

Good. We need one more high draft pick.

Tankathon has us picking fourth right now.  Could always just send him out on three days rest to boost our chances for a top 3 pick.

No longer any need to opine on Corbin.  Here is a sad by true objective fact:

Since 2020 his value has always been > 0.

As of Aug. 1, 2024, his present and future value is ABSOLUTE ZERO.

I take it you mean Kelvin because you said Absolute zero. Not Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Does Corbin get booed at the stadium when he is announced or ignominiously pulled from the game early?

While it has happened to a few players on a specific play, I think it's rare for Nats players to get booed at home. They are loyal to the hometown players. As far as I know Corbin has not been booed at home. I'm not sure he should be either since his problem doesn't appear to one of desire, just talent.

I think the exception to this would of been Anthony Rendon if he had stayed in DC and made the same comments about his affection for the game and performance on the field, or in the trainers room, since he signed with the Angels.

Dan Haren says :yesyes:

John Lester...who then flipped off the fans as he drove away after having been traded...

I think the "Big Marine" got boo'd more than once...

I know I'm forgetting some...

For anyone not up on their medieval death implements, this is the "Bec de Corbin" ("crow's beak" in Old French).
