Strasburg will go 7 without prayers. Have faith and pray that he goes all 9 innings!

I'd be very happy with 7.  We saw the Astros strategy against Max...they made him throw like 112 pitches to get through just 5.  They're not going to chase, and they're too dangerous to just live in the strike zone, even with Stras stuff.  I think you hope Stras goes 7, and if not, you might need Rodney or Rainey again to try and get a few outs.  The 8th and 9th are probably all Doo and Huddy again, but I think they only are good for 6 outs this time and not 8 again.

I think Houston showed their strategy and I think our pitchers will adjust.

Especially with Strasburg. When Strasburg is on, even his misses are close to the box. With each type of pitch. Can be befuddling if you rely on the same strategy as they did with Scherzer.

And that's not even mentioning the late movement deception.

Just need to pray for good Strasburg tonight. Which he has been pretty much the whole postseason now.

I hope Kate Upton was feeling especially frisky late into the night last night.

Strasburg vs. Verlander is actually the pitching matchup I feel best about in this whole series. Better than Corbin vs. Greinke. Certainly better than Cole vs. Scherzer. Yet the oddsmakers have the Houston Astros as strong favorites to win Game 2.

I feel the same way.  Before last night, I thought we'd probably split the first two games because Strasburg was very likely to win Game 2.  The oddsmakers are crazy.

I hope we don't use Strasburg in relief until after his next start (if needed).  He's too valuable as a starter.

It's rare that oddsmakers are crazy. I dunno.

I guess a lot of bettors just think there is no way Astros go down 2-0 at home.

I don't understand that line at all. The Nationals are due a clunker, but Strasburg on the mound is an equalizer.

I don't understand the thinking a team is "due" for a clunker.  Like you're more likely to play bad when you recently have been playing very well.  I felt like we were due for a clunker in the middle of May every day.

that's 7 straight 1-0's

Raise your hand at home if you rolled your eyes or thought it was kind of goofy the first time you heard Davey talking in May about going 1-0 every game.  Wow, has it worked or what?  The players repeat it to the media, and then they go do it.

It turns it that in baseball, as in life, all we really have is the present ... "the eternal now".   Today is all we can control.    Maybe Davey should write a book or something about this if/when we win the World Series.   :)
