Our hitters haven't give him really any reason to stick with one lineup, to be fair.

Batting Zimm 4th does not make any sense to me.

Well... Adams apparently is batting over .400 against this pitcher. Seems like Dave freaked up. Small sample tho.

- Why does dave change the batting order every game?

- Why is Zimmerman batting anywhere but 8th...if he must play?

Because the team needs Harper, Zimm and Murphy in the middle and scoring to win ?

Hmmm. Not persuasive.

- Harper played and hit well yesterday. That does not mean he has "turned it around", but, sure, it would be great if he played well this game.

- Murphy seems to be recovering his hitting, and he is among the best in baseball. Average fielder, but the lineup is a treat to see when he's hitting 7th.

- Zimmerman? With one 'n'? He had a rebound year, last year, but he was awful before going on the DL. Why should he hit 4th? And with his throwing, why should he play 1B?

He's being paid $14MM this year and $18MM next year...and the way this team seems to operate, he'll likely be paid $18MM in 2020 as well...

Not arguing that batting him cleanup might not be a stretch, but as to “awful before going on the DL”, he was actually batting .268/OPS .760 in the 10 games leading up to his DL stint (.280/.860 in the 9 games before the DL trip). Not gonna win a batting title at .268 but that’s not “awful” either.  He also has a career .300 with OPS of 1.067 against Chacin so maybe a good matchup for him.

They have to get these 3 going if they are gonna make a run. Their team offensively is built with them at the center.

Harper? Maybe. If Harper plays like yesterday, then he contributes. If he plays as he has all season, then he harms the team. Eaton is a better RF and MAT is among the best CF I've seen. He's like Bernie Williams with a strong arm.

Murphy? Sure. Murphy seems mostly to be hitting like Murphy.

Zimmerman? How many games, how many AB's before he begins to hit? And his throwing ripped Wilson Ramos's knee.

A ten game sample size is really stretching it to back up this move.

Federal Baseball has an article on something I noted a few weeks ago, that Martinez's aggressive base running team is leading the league for combined caught stealing, outs on base, and picked off. (Tampa has one more but they've also played an extra game.)

I would argue this team would do just fine with Matt Adams

I don't care how bad the calls are, anyone who argues a ball/strike needs to get benched. Martinez continues to let the hitters excuse their performance by blaming the umps.

Tonight was the last straw, folks. Never seen anything like it. Those 100 loss teams had some clowns, but never guys that flat out quit. Tonight - Trea Turner flat out quit on a play. With no repercussions.

I’m done with this team. How you don’t put Difo in after that display is beyond me. Even Manny Acta had more authority than this joker.

Here’s the footage:

Even FP didn’t have an excuse:

This has cost us a lot of runs, and likely a few games.  I hate that "we're going to be aggressive" BS that appeals to the machismo as opposed to being geared to scoring more runs.  And damned if we don't need more runs.

Every game which goes by seems to provide further reason why Martinez should be dismissed.
