Except when you're for going all-in.
Joe Ross is still in professional baseball?
All in or blow it up
At this point, the all-in thread is obsolete. Cupboards are bare, and by the time the Kimbrel cavalry arrived, it would be too late.
So what contracts are sunk? Who do you keep to build around? My guess is that you could conceivably move the following this season:RendonTurnerDoolittleBarraclaughKendrickDozierAdamsEatonThe three high priced starters are tough to flip. Now the big questions are, do you hold onto Soto and Robles? I think you do.I really hate to buy into the blow it up idea, but pitching is a serious issue for this entire franchise. They can't stay under the tax threshold and fill all the holes. there just isn't enough talent in the minors to take up any slack. That and the serious issue with developing pitching at any level makes me serious wonder what can be done.
Could you imagine the desolation at Nats Park if they bust it up, in this event-oriented town, with $15 beers and $8 hot dogs?
Rendon, Dozier, Kendrick, and Adams are free agents at the end of the season.
Sure, but why hold on to them? Might as well get something for them, even fliers on High A, or AA guys is better than nothing. The system isn't producing any pitchers, so move all of your players not locked up for 4+ years and get whatever you can. Eat as much cash as possible to maximize the return. You won't get blue chip prospects for guys with expiring contracts, but it's better than letting them walk in FA.
We might get a box of donuts for Dozier.
Didn't we get Tanner Roark for a bad Christian Guzman? You never know. Those donuts could feed our next Juan Soto.
As long as we're better than the Orioles, the Phillies don't win the WS, and Max's sells shawarmas all season, I shall remain a fat, happy, complacent consumer of an inferior product. Well, complacent anyways.
A large Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager draft is actually now $16.00...SPH price with ecash is only $12.80 though...
How much is that in Canadian?
That's the best beer in the house since they did away with Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat on tap several years ago.
