You win some and you lose some in free agency. It doesn't always have to go our way. But in any case someone who wants to get the biggest contract in baseball should be the best player in baseball. Bryce isn't the best player so he shouldn't get rewarded as such. He turned down what was a very lucrative offer from the Lerners so bon voyage Bryce. It was fun while it lasted but if you're on the opposing team I'll root against you, regardless of the past 6 years.

Anyone else notice how often during the telecast there is a reference to the improved attitude, cohesiveness, work ethic etc this year? Am I reading between the lines too much that they are talking about Harper?

Edited to add: FP was just saying it's hard to feel bad for someone who turned down 300/10 and that players were blowing up his phone when news came out that he turned down the offer. Bob added that the feeling was that the feeling among the players was that they've all moved on. On cue Rendon homered, and they noted how many fans hope he signs a deal.

Also in first Rendon AB, when they were going on about how Rendon says agent works for him and not the other way around, blah blah.

Seemed to be indirect shot at Harper imo. I think 0% chance Harper is back. They are already framing the narrative to fans.

I agree, but I won't "vilify" him for waiting it out and landing a bigger offer.

So assuming Harper signs with philly, will anyone believe him at his intro press conference when talks about much he loves philly and he always wanted to be there? It’s pretty obvious that if he wanted to be there he would have signed long ago.
