named NL Rookie of the Month for June.

If he didn’t win it they probably should have not bothered giving it out anymore.

If anyone is moving to first, it should be Soto
I think he ends up there long term, so I agree.

I think Soto needs his AA time to learn to field.

Put him at 1B as much as possible, starting next year. Some say that's the easiest defensive position on the field, especially for a lefty.

:lmao: There's no way you send his bat down now. If you want him to learn to field, make him show up to the park early with Eaton and Taylor and shag fly balls.

Agreed.  Most people don't realize how dramatically you can improve your outfield skills by taking hundreds of fly balls.  But I mean, literally, hundreds.  Per day.  Most players aren't willing to do that.

Based on everything I’ve heard about Soto, it seems he would do just that.

I agree with slate. Going down to the minors to field 3 or 4 fly balls a night isn’t doing anyone any good.

I've been a bit surprised by his speed.  I was sort of expecting Frank Howard or David Ortiz on the base paths and in the field, but he looks no worse than average.  FG's scouting has him at 45 now and 40 in the future, but I'd say he might be a bit better than that.

Also, last night I was surprised to see the Red Sox shifting the infield on him.  my impression is he sprays the ball, but that might only be for balls in the air.

He’s 19. If he has average speed, then that ain’t great.

He looks like he lives in that building above The Salt Line judging by his videos on Instagram. Must be pretty nice to be able to wake up and just walk right over to the park everyday.

Impossible. We have it on good authority here at WNFF that Harper is selfish and not a good leader.

They are clown suits.  Harper just did it to embarrass him.

I don't like giving this to a guy who's almost 30.

In Dominican years he is 19.

I am more likely to belive he is a sprocket salesman from Bethesda who sold his soul to Mr. Applegate than that he is older than 1 score

I haven't read every post on the WNFF but I'm pretty sure score hasn't been used as a quantity of years before in conversation.

I like the idea of Soto playing 1B. We don't seem to have anyone available in that pipeline.

merged the Juan Soto Truths thread with the earlier Can he make it thread.  The JTS thread went from some humor about him to a general thread on JS, so pulling the two general threads together makes sense.

But I think it has been used as a  measure  of the number of women a player has had.
