LT in essence caused to happen what Joe Gibbs did not have the stomach to do..................now I am not saying LT should break Zimms leg nut if this quad thing doesn't heal so fast it would not be a bad thing

Most fans are dumb.

I'd argue that most fans that participate in this types of forums are in the top percentiles of fan intelligence.

Intelligence... maybe.
Advocating for a patient and prudent approach to managing a team .... I'd say bottom 1 percentile!

If the board was managing the team...

Scherzer would have been released or at least traded after another playoff failure.
Harper would be benched every game
Strasburg would have been gone years ago
Zimmerman would be in a nursing home
Any bench player who hot a week long hot streak would be given a starting job.  Of course, we'd turn on them the next week when we realized they weren't really that good and they'd be DFA'd.
Davy would have been fired.  Dusty would have been hired and re-fired by now.
We'd probably be left with board members having to step in and play because we got rid of everyone in the organization.

You forgot about Rookie Monsters, where the guy hitting cleanup at Hagerstown should be starting for the Nats even though he's never seen a real slider or curveball.

They should all consider themselves very lucky that guns are against the law. Otherwise.......  :hysterical:  :hysterical: :hysterical:
It’s called “passion for the game/their team”. If our peers weren’t so passionate about their Nats there would be no reason to go to games or come to this board.
I find it pleasurable to see others passionate about their opinion on the game and their team whether it be positive or negative, or I agree or disagree with their stance on the matter. Besides, someone’s “opinion” will always generate an opening for one the vultures around here to swoop down and fill their ego by trying to prove somebody wrong.  It’s great stuff.

Let’s go Naaaaaaaaats!!!

I want “2” today dammit!

http://www.masnsports.com/byron-kerr/2018/06/martinez-will-speak-to-zimmerman-about-rehab-games.html

Quote
Manager Davey Martinez said he will speak to Zimmerman about rehab games possibly for next week, even though the veteran may not be too excited about warming up in the minor leagues.

“As soon as he’s ready to play, I’ll have to sit down and talk to him,” Martinez said. “I’d like for him to go and get some at-bats. Whether it’s nearby or somewhere. He’s missed some time. I know these guys don’t like on rehab assignments. But for him I think it’s important that he does just to get some at-bats and get back to playing.

“It’s not easy going out there and playing seven, eight, nine innings. I want him to get comfortable doing it, be on his feet for two, three, four days maybe, and then we’ll go from there.”

Why do I get the feeling that a riff is forming between Zimmerman and Martinez? Zimmerman has been on the DL before. He knows the drill. He knows he's getting some rehab assignments. Would would Martinez need to "sit him down" and talk to him.

I know this thread is about Davey, but what is Zimm trying to pull this year?  Is this a veteran making a statement to MLB ownership about how unhappy he and the players are about what went down in free agency this off-season?  I recall him seeming to be more outspoken than usual about it during spring training, and he is an untouchable vet in position to do such a thing.  First he basically declined to participate in ST and he is saying "no" to rehab assignments.  There is something going on here.

He's a nag. We should buy him out and let him do what he wants....which is to not play baseball at any level, let alone one that makes up for his pay.

freak him.

I agree with this but he won't accept a buy out.

Correct. We could have traded him during the off-season coming off his comeback year, but now he's worthless, high contract, fragile, and unmanageable.

Why would he agree to waive his no-trade clause?  Is it limited?
