He's making hard contact, maybe he'll get his groove back at the plate, maybe he'll just pull himself back up from the bottom of the league in OPS, but regardless of how Zim recovers at the plate he does not belong on a baseball field while his team is on defense.

Well last time I checked, the Nats are in the NL, so

To be fair, he hit a few balls really well last night. I don't think anything was going out, but he absolutely crushed at least one warning track fly that I Bob Carpentered - perfect launch angle, hard hit - but died.  I think it ended up with ice on it.  The single RBI was a crushed liner.  I'm not saying this is a turn around start, but you can see where those hard contact stats are coming from.

He's officially reached albatross status. When the hell does his contract expire?

A bunch of supposed contenders are hovering at or below the .500 mark. I'll wait till the weather warms up before panicking.

Bob Carpenter - "Don't bury a guy with a 12 season record of success"

So let that be a lesson to all of you.

What is Bob saying now after Zim blows an inning-ending, run saving DP with one of his patented Steve Sax throws?

He's still insisting everyone bow down because of the first inning dinger.  In the 4th, Zimm hit one to the second baseman for an easy out and Bob said "he's locking in now" or something along those lines.  I guess if it's batting .125, he's locked.

Zim has had three bad throws so far this season, on barely more than three attempts.  I do believe that the reason he took the spring off was to try and save his shoulder for the regular season.  It is just so apparent now that he can no longer throw a baseball, I'm not sure what the Nats can do.  He has a few years left on his contract, but then again, they did sign Mark Reynolds to a minor-league deal.

The bum shoulder was acceptable last year due to hitting over .300.  So far this year, it's just negative-WAR on both offense and defense.

Welcome

My first post on this board is a Zim bash.  I will always appreciate the guy, but he's physically unable to play professional baseball.  I keep hoping he accepts that and retires, so everyone can finally move on.

In the five at bats since this post Zimmerman has three hits, three runs, and four RBIs, with some really poor play in the field. Got that in just in time.

That seemed like a legit post. Zimmerman is due to make another $18 million next season and probably get a $2 million buyout the following year () and his production, without the juice, doesn't merit the salary. But It's not necessary to be gargling the players' balls to show that you are a Nats fan.
