We did the Control Room Tour with our red carpet points today— that was freakin AWESOME. We got to go up to the very top level, above the press box, where they manage the video feeds, make the hype videos, set up the replays, manage the scoreboards and run the music. it’s a BIG team, probably 30 people in all, split into three rooms (one for video editing and cameras, one for the sound and scoreboard, and one for misc gameday tech stuff). One of the coolest parts was seeing how much intel they had on the players and how they prepped for each at-bat, like when Trea reached first base, the team leader fella told one of the other guys to get Road Runner Meep Meep ready in case Trea stole, and when one of the Rockies batters had 2 strikes he told them to have that Back Street Boys “Bye Bye” sound byte ready. I got so,e good photos of the field but I felt weird taking photos of the control room itself because, well, it’s where people are working lol. Anyway, that was a fantastic experience, very much recommended, although I imagine if you aren’t into tech nerd stuff, it might not be as fun. It cost 4000 points if memory serves me, and it was for two people. We were there for about 3 innings.
