Harper's best year was 2015, but the last 1 1/2 months of that season he didn't perform well. That's when this team needed him the most. His volatility index is very high. Consistency (e.g. Anthony Rendon) is a valued commodity. Volatility is not.
Harper is a good fielder (not great). He's a good base runner (not great).
Note: He would NOT accept a Qualifying Offer. But if Rizzo can get decent prospect(s) for him now, I hope he goes for it.
