Serious question: Is it possible he's still injured from last year? He didn't exactly hit well when he came back. He still hasn't. Is it possible he's either hiding an injury or has altered his swing and doesn't realize it?

He was fully recovered in April. Unless this is a new injury, which is possible.

.247/.458/.528 is fully recovered?

We thought Eaton was fully recovered. Then he something else pop up (er, out in this case) and he had to go back on the DL.

What if Harper started out healthier than at the end of last season, but it's gotten progressively worse.

Mechanically something is wrong. Be it from injury or bad habit formed.

Regardless he goes out almost every game and tries to help the team. He has heart. And cares way more for Nat fans then people think. He like many other players don’t want to participate in the home run derby. He’s there for the city, the team, and the fans. I think he will have a monster second half.

I think the team will as well.

The second Bryce Harper Field was dedicated today. This one is in Herndon/Reston area I believe. He put up a lot of money for this one, just like the field in Takoma. In his Dedication speech, he reportedly said he looks forward to playing for the Nats “for the next 10 years.”  Which may mean nothing at all. Who knows. But no one can say he doesn’t try to give back to the community.    I still think (and hope) he stays.

In my heart of hearts I hope he stays as well because he will get turned around and rock like he has in the past.

He really does seem like a good guy. I guess that's why I get a little bothered by the mean-spirited, personal attacks by fans who are disappointed by his poor play.

I personally hope he plays in DC for his entire career. I don't want the Nats to sign him up at any price, but I do believe his best years are still ahead of him.

I spotted a thirty-ish guy wearing Harper Cubs jersey at the Future's Game yesterday. I never wanted to give a baseball fan a beat down as much as much as I did then.

I’m sensing a lot of pent up rage and hostility the way you constantly talk of physically harming others.  :couch:

I seen a video of Harper saying he wants to ply for Dave the next 10 years. Is that what everyone is referring to?

Bryce because he’s one of the biggest stars the game has.

Idk about Dave.

This is the problem with Nats fans, Harper slumps all year, loafs all year, then shows up to a Dream Foundation event and we have to sign him long term.

Bryce seems like a pretty charitable guy and overall seems to love working with kids and giving back in that regard. I've never doubted that he's probably an alright dude (with a big ego, but everyone at his level does), I think personal attacks on him are silly.

I want him to be a Nationals legend and to win awards here and win a title here and be our icon in the way that Trout is in LA, Ripken is in BAL, Jeter in NYY, etc.,... but it doesn't look like it will work out.

Royce has always gone the extra mile for kids...he's often the only Nat signing autographs for them during spring training...

Hes one of the biggest stars in the league. A tremendous talent. He has great hair. He’s fun to watch. He doesn’t give me a headache.
