Dude is gonna end up with 40 bombs and 100 RBIs but somehow that won't be good enough if he doesn't hit at least .280.
No one is asking him to hit .280, just don't be hitting .214 this deep into the season when games are becoming more important. Not to mention.......
- .171 in July
- .188 in June
- .228 with RISP
- .195 with no runners on base
- .124 with no runners on base when he doesn't homer
- Won't try to hit the ball the other way to beat the shift
- Horrible ABs all season which have cost the team runs and games
- By month his average has dropped 20 points, 33 points and then 17 points between April/May/June/July
- Makes a pointless wild brain fart throw from CF the other night in Pittsburgh which ended up costing them a run
- Gave up running on the DP ball tonight
Yes I'd expect more from the superstar on the team with his talent and ability. I'd expect more from Wilmer Difo if he was putting up those numbers (and other than RISP all of Wilmer's averages are better than Bryce's). I'd prefer the superstar on my team act like a leader instead of a pouting baby, so no, the great power numbers don't make everything okay.
If something major is going on off the field or the knee hasn't fully healed for whatever reason, we don't know. But his play has been unacceptable. Do things to help your team win, not lose.
