And the Nats are in Miami right as this thing is about to come into town. Wonder if this could impact things this week. This is the most trivial part of the weather event...
It's not even coming close until this weekend.
Oh, gotcha. I thought it was closer than that.
No but that's not preventing people in the panhandle from freaking out already
I mean, given what we just saw in Houston, I can't really blame 'em.
Lost in the Hurricane talk are some pretty significant wildfires in the Pacific Northwest.
Montana too. We've had nothing but smokey skies the last few days. Sad.
2 PM update is worse. 185 mph winds with a minimum pressure of only 926, which means still room for significant intensification.

update at 5 PM from NWS in Miami said maximum sustained winds of 185 MPH with gusts up to 220 MPH. This is unreal.
It's bound to be broken up a bit going over the islands, no? Although I can't imagine what those island are going to look like afterwards
I'm trying to find some news covering what's happening with this hurricane and all I can find is political talk about DACA.
Don't forget the Americans in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Typically, no. Maybe larger islands like Cuba or Hispanola because they're more mountainous. The little island won't do much of anything at all.
