Not quite. He had been clean for 22 years, then relapsed in 2013, spent ten days in rehab, was seemingly clean again, then fell back into it. Addiction is a lifelong disease, especially with something as nasty as heroin. Those 22 years were a long time to be clean, but.... I can't help wishing there had been 22 or 44 more.
