The Lakers' roster is a disaster. They're gonna suck for a long time to come.

...Steve Nash out for season with back injury (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2014/10/23/steve-nash-is-out-for-the-season/)...they'll certainly be 'seeing how the other half lives' this season.

Sans knowledge of NBA salary cap issues etc, I doubt they'll suck for a long time. It's LA and it's the Lakers. Won't be hard to get big FAs to come there. Savvy drafting will make them a force again quickly I would think.

Acquiring a big star via FA or trade does not necessarily equal a turnaround. See Amare Stoudemire, Deron Williams, and LA's trade for Dwight Howard. It would have to be someone like Kevin Durant, and in the IMO unlikely event that he leaves OKC, I don't see him going to LA.

Not really. Just next year at $25 million and with pretty much no one else making anything.

Why wouldnt Durant go to LA? it is a legendary franchise and he could be the next legend of the lakers. or do you think the fans in Oklahoma City are just too fantastic to ever leave behind?

Because he will be coming home to DC!  Seriously he is low key guy and will probably stay in ok city or come home. Don't see him being a NY or LA guy.

Btw ESPN has him ranked as the 8th best player. What have they been smoking?

Did you see his tweet about it before it was taken down? Something to the effect that his jumper and selfie were on point

He could be one in a long line there, or go anywhere else without the comparisons, not to mention CA taxes vs anywhere else

Ridiculous to have Kevin Love and Curry ahead of him.

Durant is second best behind Lebron. Period.

I dunno, what I read in regards to Kevin Love is pretty deadly. Match up nightmare. I mean, at least it's not Lin

Love is terrible defensively. Well see if he picks it up in Cleveland.

I may be one of the few Steelers' fans that doesn't "hate" Cleveland.    Lookin' forward to tonight's game  ....   Cavs/Knicks.

This is the worst I've ever seen LeBron James play.

Haven't seen much of it but that's nice. Guess they won't go 82-0.

OKC and Clippers coming up.  Nice to be retired so I can stay up late for these games.

Why didn't the guy in the Budweiser commercial take a taxi home rather than leaving his dog alone?

Missus takes Halloween week off to decorate, buy candy, look at leaves, etc.    She loves the fall.    Usually she's working nights.   So, when she takes off, I get one game a night.     She's ruining my retirement.   :)

I've mentioned it before but I really dislike that commercial on a lot of levels   ...   drinking beer is the only redeeming value to the commercial.

Think about me; my wife is retired also.  Can you believe she thinks its a bad idea to watch sports all night?  What are women thinking.

Watchin' a bit of the Nuggets/Cavs game before the Steelers on MNF.     Man, am I glad we have Phil Chenier and not Austin Carr (Cavs) on our broadcast team.

I really like the Santa Claus/ESPN/NBA promos.    I get the feeling they're spoofing Popovich.    :)

The one about "Presents?...We're talking about Presents?" spoofs Alan Iverson...
