Has anyone been to Right Proper Brewing in the Shaw neighborhood ?  Can you tell what was good and not so good ?  We are going there for the first time Saturday.

I think they usually have like three of their beers on tap plus three other locals. i it rotates frequently so my last trip from months ago might not be relevant

There are a couple other places in the neighborhood that seem cool. Dacha beer garden (haven't been) and shaw tavern have decent patios. Shaw usually has some three stars on tap

FYI - For you ladies who enjoy craft beer (or gents with such ladies) there's a relatively new local chapter of a national group called Girls Pint Out - "a national craft beer organization for women" as described on the national webpage. Shameless plug: my wife heads said chapter. There wasn't one when we moved here last year, and she was excited to start it up. Check 'em out if you like:

Hmm, not sure - DC I would imagine.  She's always posting pictures of beers I had never heard of.

A few of my friends and I went to the Right Proper Brewing Company Saturday night, which is near the Shaw metro.  The dinner menu and the beer selection was great.  We all agreed Right Proper was something we had hoped Blue Jacket would become, but we've given up on Blue Jacket becoming a regular beer and dinner place.

Just had a Bible Belt.  While good, it is nowhere near as good as Bomb! IMO.

Port City Brewing Company's World Headquarters

Join us in the Tasting Room on Friday April 18th for the return of Revival, our oyster stout! The taps will open in Tasting Room for pints and growler fills at 3PM. We are also excited to announce that War Shore Oyster Co. will be returning to the Tasting Room and serving up their local, delicious Chesapeake Bay oysters that evening from 5PM-9PM, or while the bivalve supply lasts. $17 for a 1/2 dozen oysters and a pint of Revival. Cheers!

$17 for 6 oyster! Do the Lerners own Post City? You can get a dozen for $12 at Hanks.

To be fair you also get a pint of beer.  Still steep but not apples to apples.

I feel like starting a Kosher for Passover wine thread just  for equal time.

Man oh man, Manischewitz, what a wine!

Actually, I think most rum and any potato vodka are OK, so I expect to be downing a few Tito's and soda  with a lemon and a lime Saturday night.

Went to Applebees last night because they had 3$ pints of Sam Adams Summer Ale and you got to keep the glass. I now have 4 glasses.

I was enjoying some Wild Turkey American Honey prior to that. Besides, I had to work today and I hate the thoughts of doing this with a hangover.

Is that deal at hanks happy hour on weekdays only or something? $1 oysters are pretty much a steal around here. Rapahannock at union market has $1 oysters during prime Friday and Saturday hours. I don't know if that will last forever. I keep expecting it to go away. Basically the only thing that isn't a rip off there.  $2 per is pretty common. Saw $3 once in Philly and was like wtf, where am i

So this Wednesday I arrive in Copenhagen for my vacation, and we are going to visit Mikkeller, one of the world's most renowned brewpubs. I couldn't be more excited. Hmm... I wonder if we could watch the Eurovision Song Contest finals from that bar. I could get veeerrrryyy happy there.
