I think Frank Howard is the only player to hit a fair ball out of DC Stadium / RFK. Umpire called it foul because the ball hit escape velocity above the foul pole. Opposing left-fielder later said, yes, fair ball. Howard also hit one into a stairway in the upper-deck.
Best throw? Ankiel strike from center as a Nat. I remember Colavito well...he pitched a couple of innings. Mantle, Sievers, Colavito, Killebrew were the AL power hitters in the late '50s.
Powerful throw? Darryl Strawberry from RF at Shea to catcher's belt buckle, no hop. Mistake, however, since runner scored about ten feet ahead of the throw and the batter took second since Strawberry ignored the cutoff man.
