ONE of the differences between you and me is that I can acknowledge when people play well AND when they don't. The reason they were able to stay in this game is because of the defensive front 7. Both Orakpo and Kerrigan played well today. But so did everyone else on the first two levels of the defense. You on the other hand ignore games when Orakpo had a total of two tackles in three games and countered by quoting stats from his rookie season or said crap about his making multiple pro bowls. Vince Young needs to add multiple pro bowls to his resume so he wouldn't have to be sitting at home. While we're at it so should Matt Schaub because according to the likes of you that merits him stud status.

I was annoyed at how they said Garcon had tied the Redskins franchise record for receptions in one season and over an hour later said he had taken first place all by himself with 96 catches. Nevermind that Art Monk had 106 receptions in 1984.

I see the Griffin jackasss are out in full force trying to minimize what Cousins did today. The reality is that Cousins has an infinitely better understanding of playing QB than Griffin. The problem with a lit of great athletes who play QB is that they rely on their athleticism so much in their ascent to the NFL that they neglect honing their craft and it shows when they are actually forced to play QB at the pro level. It is so clear that Cousins is better (not quite where he should be yet) at pre snap reads than Griffin and he is also more decisive in where he needs to go after the snap. He moves through his progressions well (Griffin seldom goes beyond his first or second option) and is a fraction quicker than Griffin at delivering the football. He was late on the second interception and it cost him. He also left a couple plays on the field where he had open field to run for long chunks and move the chains. That's an important part of the game that he needs to take advantage of. I felt they should've made an adjustment on the two point conversion due to the front the Falcons offered. The MLB was keying Helu so they should've sent Helu in motion to the right and ran the QB draw with an option to throw. With the front they were showing the MLB either has to be forced to move out of the box to account for Helu and leave the middle wide open or he stays in the middle and Helu is unaccounted for in the flat.

Having said that, there 's no need to get overly excited about the way Cousins played today. The enthusiasm should be tempered with the reality that it's just one game and Cousins has a long way to go still. I would say this whole thing will work itself out and that the two will battle it out but I don't think that will be the case. I believe Griffin will demand (not publicly) that Cousins be traded in the offseason.

Last year they catered to him (correctly) and his lack of QB skills and understanding of the position by installing a college type system. It caught defenses off guard and it led to his fantastic season. This season Griffin started out late and wasn't 100% for the first 6 or 7 weeks of the season. Add to that the fact that defenses were better prepared for the option read and he was forced to become an actual QB. This is also something he and his father insisted they wanted to do. The result was that he was exposed as someone who is a long way from being an actual QB.

I think by the time they played a couple of preseason games you would know who to roll with. But as I said, I don't think we will see any competition so it's moot.

No, based on his freaking ability. The guy has a cannon for an arm, can extend plays, and up until this year he was very accurate with the ball and didn't make many mental mistakes. He regressed this year with his decision making, stared down receivers too long, and also has held onto the ball too long. All of those things are coachable though and can be fixed. Missing the entire off-season is what's held him back from taking the next step as a QB. RG3 has all the tools to be a star QB, it's just a matter of applying them. Hopefully he goes low profile this off-season and masters his craft, cause if so he's the QB that gives this team the best chance at winning.

Also, unfortunately I've got a feeling that Shanahan isn't going anywhere...which is really no bueno. We're gonna be a 6 win team next year.

I'm going to ignore the "cannon for an arm" bullcrap. He's only been accurate (and we can only base this on past performance) when he played in a college system that left WR's wide open. I don't see that system surviving in the NFL for the long run. If it did then Tim Tebow can be allowed back into the league. If you could run that system successfully year in and year out then fine because it makes decision making easy and it has the potential to leave receivers wide open but if not then he has to show me he can learn to play the game at this level. I hope it happens because the success of my team depends on it but I need to see it to believe it.

What ability? A "cannon arm"? We can name many who had cannon arms but were failures and many who didn't have cannon arms but were excellent QB's. Accurately hitting wide open receivers (up until this year

)? Aside from Tim Tebow, that isn't how you measure a QB;s accuracy. His ability to run and extend plays? He failed to extend plays this season. Besides, what you described is Mike Vick and Vick has never been much more than hype.

I suspect that, if Cousins finishes the season looking good, they'll trade him and go with Griffin who should gave no excuse for not playing better next year. I still can't believe Compton isn't getting looks over Polumbus.

I agree that Cousins is the superior QB as far as being advanced in the cerebral aspect of the game. To be honest, if its believed that he's the better pro going forward and someone offers a "Richardson to the Colts" type deal, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I really like Griffin and believe that he can be a star but at this point, I want the best team possible. If that means moving RGIII, so be it. And before it starts, I don't for a second see anything like that happening if for no other reason than its admitting you made a bad move and that its a bit soon to be throwing in the towel.
