We really don't have any other choice than to let him play thru it.

You're probably right. Playing Cousins would be an admission of the mistake and they won't do that. Also, it would cause a media frenzy of that happened not to mention the pouting from Griffin. He would probably tweet "play me or trade me" and then claim it was a joke.  :?

Look, I have the game on the DVR but haven't watched it. So, keeping that in mind I'll offer thoughts, valid or not. Keep Griffin as the starter. He's not going to get better or get more comfortable sitting the bench. He may have been better off to sit til the bye, bit I don't know if the team as a whole would be, what with the media circus already... They made adjustments to the scheme last year to maximize griffin's skills, do it again. The kid is more than just a runner who can throw. Run the read some, but hammer Morris down the defense and use playaction as well as rollouts. More screens and some draws.

I don't even know what to say about the defense. Are we getting legit pressure? Is our secondary that bad? I'm at a loss. I know its week 2 and still early but the Nats crappy start  has me very worried.

Hell, calling the read might not be bad. Griffin either can do it or can't. He'll figure it out and go from there. He needs the psychological aspect of the healing complete too.

pressure is ok, until the packers adjusted- the sacks came early, the secondary is awful, I don't think any of our starters start for a playoff team, some probably don't belong on a roster.

Plus two rookies in the secondary isn't a good thing.

especially a sixth rounder, but readistically the safetys are just awful, orakpo and Fletcher cant cover and no one can tackle

Kinda ironic how some of these guys on ES begging to draft Rambo and 2 weeks into the season lobbying everyone to bench him.

Also, not the least bit surprised that packers had there first 100 yard rusher in 45 games

He'd probably tweet that. I doubt he'd claim it was a joke.  :(

Griffin's knee brace broke during the game. It's time to take that crap off and play ball.

yup. I wonder if shedding it will boost his confidence? The mental aspect of injuries is often understated.

I like Rambo, but I liked him better as a role player this year and perhaps a starter next year. He's just raw. Phillip Thomas should have and probably would have been the starter barring injury. Rambo would seem to make a better SS as opposed to FS.

I like Rambo as a guy who can sit on the bench and learn for a couple of years- this is what happens when you trade away a crap ton of first second and third round picks

Are there not smaller knee braces he can wear? Tom Brady wore one that seemed much smaller.

You know, another huge issue is how bad our return game is. You can't continue to start out on offense on the wrong side of the 20 and more likely, the 10 and expect to have a lot of success. Thompson needs to be taken off the job or not be allowed to return kicks deeper than about a yard deep. That or cut him and find a real return man.

Or maybe the defense can stop people before they reach midfield.

I wonder what effect Jarvis Jenkins returning from suspension week 6(?) will have on the defense.

So, does Megatron go for over 200yds this week? Does Reggie Bush set a record for total yards?

That's par for the course for the local media.

Can he play corner?  :?

do people really want to start a qb controversy? rg3 is kind of the horse the skins sold their future to run, seems kind of stupid to give up after two games where the secondary has proven to be awful against two good offensive teams. the eagles with a healthy vick, jackson and mccoy do look pretty dangerous and the packers have an amazing qb. all of the 2nd year guys(except luck who was the 1 pick for a reason) have struggled to an extent so far this year(2 games).

local media, it creates ratings. If you want to compare results, kapernick shredded the packers, and Rivers handled the eagles defense, so it's not like he's been playing well. If he won't run, it's legitimate- he's six feet tall and he's going to have trouble if he won't at least boot leg, outside of garbage time, he's looked like crap. To a certain extent, drafting a capable backup in the same draft as griffen opened the door for controversy, off season talk about high draft picks for cousins reenforced that there is a view he can play, now griffen sucking has created the opening. I think the coaches will never bench griffen- their jobs are pretty tied to his success, but I also think the trade to acquire him was a mistake (those missing draft picks could plug some holes in the secondary or O-line- you could say that no one saw Kepernick or Wilson coming, but that's why Shannahan makes so much money - he's supposed to be a qb guru)

So I thought about it and I don't think we can effectively evaluate the defense until the offense can stay on the field for 15 minutes or more.
