Yeah, I don't want them signing him to 10 years either.

Make a silly 5 year offer he can't refuse

You can do it!

Did they give him a Buehrle type fair market offer?

I'll be very disappointed if they give that fat slob a 10 year deal.

Here we go guys, Prince isn't coming to DC again so all aboard the fat joke train. Next stop BiL.

Right, he was humiliated by the last ARod deal, and he can be humiliated again.

you mean 10 years $275 million?

Just think of those extensions we'll be able to sign in 2015!!!  Those number one draft picks will look great then!!!

Please lock this thread. The party is over. For real. Nats aren't and were never the frontrunners for Prince. It made zero sense for many reasons.

Time to focus our attention on Cespedes who will actually fill a position of need.

So, since this Prince thread has become a compendium of - yeah, just about everything -  I have the crappiest head cold, any remedies anyone?

No, I mean a few years ago when he renegotiated with the Yankees.  He got so frustrated with Boras that he went to the Yankees and negotiated the deal himself.

Boras also eventually had to do a one year deal with Beltre in Boston when folks felt he was asking way too much for him.  He usually pulls the rabbit out of the hat but hopefully we get lucky.

I'm at the point where I don't care so much whether we get Fielder, I care more that wherever he signs it is a contract that humiliates Borass.

Had that last week, and nothing works.  Nothing!  Don't bother with Dayquil, Theraflu daytime, anything daytime period, they're completely worthless.  Take some Nyquil at night and at least get a good night's sleep.

Has anyone pointed out yet that Prince Fielder is awful in every active NL East park except hitter-friendly Citizens Bank where he boasts a .440 BABIP that is likely inflating his numbers?  Seriously, check it out.  It's bad.

Nationals Park (64 PA)
.222/.328/.315
1 HR

Citizens Bank Park (89 PA) (.440 BABIP)
.386/.506/.714
5 HR

Turner Field (102 PA)
.191/.294/.528
9 HR

Citi Field (45 PA)
.250/.400/.333
1 HR

Keep in mind he would play 108 of 162 games in one of these parks.

I have the same thing.  Choking on phlegm is just so freaking lovely and I'm sure all the ladies think it's so freaking adorable

And that's exactly why we shouldn't sign him and LANC :stir:

I don't really see how he's a great fit for us, especially given his demands relative to his not being a leadoff CF, but I'm perfectly willing to see what happens in the workout/scouting process and jump on the bandwagon.

Jorge Soler seems like a guy worth throwing the cash at, though.

How is Tyler Moore progressing? Assuming Prince signs elsewhere, could Moore be ready for the majors by 2013?
