LOL, sounds like you might be a little bitter?  I'll trust your opinion.  You guys have been dealing with incompetence and heartbreak for over 100 years.

Bitter?  There's nothing to be bitter about.  Heartbreak, sure, but incompetence?  The only idiotic thing they did was give Soriano a ton of money but the Werthless signing trumps that.

Well, I'd say such a long championship draught necessarily implies some incompetence along the way.

As for Werth, only time will tell....still has a long time to make the deal look decent, or even good.  And I'll stand by my statement, the Werth signing was more about making a statement.  making it acceptable for a big name guy like Fielder to go to a team that 5 years ago was a total joke.

Eh, it's baseball and the Cubs.  You spend a couple of afternoons at Wrigley Field under the influence of Old Style and you forget all about the championship droughts.

I'm just tired of constantly searching mlbtr and wnff on my slow ass droid. The thing pisses me off more than having to wait for Prince to sign.

Then get a Windows Phone.  :mg:

Rangers do not seem to be all that interested in Prince

Quote
Daniels also made it clear Tuesday afternoon that the Rangers are not interested in free agent first baseman Prince Fielder. The Rangers are focused on getting something done with pitcher Yu Darvish. They have until Jan. 18. If negotiations fall apart with Darvish, the Rangers might turn their attention to Fielder. But right now the Rangers expect Mitch Moreland to be their first baseman.

So that the Windows Phone will piss him off more, and the droid will be preferable in comparison?

I am convinced it's really up to how much the Lerners want to pony up.  I really think the ball is in their court.  Whether or not they pull the trigger, we'll see.

I bet Davey is pushing hard for Fielder.

Gotta be thinking of the lineup he could have.

Yeah, they don't have cheap and incompetent owners.

We don't actually know that yet.  this is their first off season.  They seem to be off to a good start bringing in Theo.

you are probably right, he's exactly the kind of player Davey wants.

Meanwhile Riggleman is going bat-crazy over the fact that he may have lost the opportunity to potentially double-switch Fielder out 60 times a year for a defensive replacement.

Mango > Ice Cream Sandwich or Honeycomb or Gingerbread....or whatever he's using.

What if Boras wants a 10 yr deal though? I mean, I doubt it, he loves him some LernerCash (tm).

I bet Riggleman would tell you that he'd rather manage the Pensacola Blue Wahoos...At least he won't feel disrepected managing for class AA.

SF, don't you know that if your pathetic attempts at reverse karma / anti-jinx / reverse-psychology are too obvious and forced, they are doomed to fail?

They have to be sincere efforts in order for the anti-jinx powers to gain traction.

So have there been any new rumors besides that one guy a couple hours ago with the 7 year talk? While I like the smokescreens to an extent, I also hate them. We need some sourcessss.

Anyone see Gammons on MLB Network hot stove tonight?  I only caught part of it, but Gammons and the panel discussed "can the Nats afford to keep RZ if they sign Fielder." Gammo and the panel thought it would be unlikely prior to RZ hitting free agency.

Makes you wonder if the delays in negotiating with RZ's agent is because they want the Prince issue resolved first.
