I think powerboater is lying and didn't actually believe any of it,  but saw an opportunity to troll the rest of us out of a few hours of sleep

I'm just tired of constantly searching mlbtr and wnff on my slow ass droid. The thing pisses me off more than having to wait for Prince to sign.

Ain't no better with high speed internet.   Ain't no news.

All kidding aside, I'm buying it, looking at his Twitter profile and past history, it's legit.  I've been fooled before but usually I can spot a hoax.

I look forward to this being over with and everyone being exposed as frauds.

After the Mike Wise incident I don't know why anyone would attach their real name to this sort thing if it is a hoax, dude will never regain his credibility.

Mike Wise incident?  I'm pretty sure this Ric person is posting in character.

I'm a true believer, but of course not so much that I'd bet actual money on it, take a look at the Twitter account and make your own decision.  In any case I'm going to bed at the normal time tonight (of course I'll be checking in when the 15 year old dog wants to go out at 3AM again tomorrow morning.)

Ric has over 3,000 tweets and 900 followers, if this is a dummy account he has gone through a whole lot of effort for one dumb joke. The level of effort to set this up was too high for this minimal payoff.

Yeah, it's sad when he has to drag himself up the stairs, but he is still alert as ever and wants to be around the family all the time.

You realize the irony of this right? You are addressing a character that was carefully cultivated.

Awesome if this all true, but I'm a little skeptical since no one else is reporting anything three hours after his initial tweet came out.

He's not.

Hopefully he's from Maine.  Maybe he got his info from Rizzo at Ramparts when they were swapping chaps.

If he has the ins with Boras, I doubt any known people would know anything until its official.

I'm waiting until either Heyman, Rosenthal, Kilgore, and Buster post something.

Not really because back then the team made a big fuss about the pursuit which is why many of us saw it as the farce that it was, at no point of the "pursuit" of Tex did I think that the team was serious about signing him.

If you don't think the Cubs are going to be in the playoffs in the next 3-5 years you're delusional.

Seriously?  Castro, the catcher whose name I can't remember?  Now Volstad.  Aging players at other spots.  Empty farm system.  I see nothing but a total rebuild from this franchise and with nothing much on the way can't see it happening in 2-3 years.

I think they'll get there, for sure, but I dont see how you can talk like its a guaranteed thing.  They're not the Nats.

LOL, sounds like you might be a little bitter?  I'll trust your opinion.  You guys have been dealing with incompetence and heartbreak for over 100 years.  We're comparative noobs in that department!

I just think its funny that anyone thinks he would sign with the Cubs at this point.  Two teams I don't worry about Fielder signing with?  The Cubs and Mariners.
