B.  Unless you enjoy FULL SUN in the afternoon.  I used to have section 226 and afternoon games were killer.  I rather be higher up, see everything, and be out of the sun sooner.

Full sun would probably be good on opening day.

I've been to Nationals Park twice. First time I sat above Nationals bullpen, my next time, I sat infield box, 129 row HH, great seats. Depending on the number of people going when I return to see them play the Mets in May, I may not splurge for great seats, since I already did so the following week when they are in Pittsburgh, and am planning on seeing them in Cincy later in the summer. Anyways, I'm looking at section 221, as well as 210.

Can the more seasoned attendees tell me if they prefer 1st baseline to 3rd? 3rd to 1st? I'm avoiding the 300's and 400's.

Cant wait!

Sight lines aren't that much different, 210 gets you in the "club", an air conditioned area that is great if it is boiling hot or raining, and has slightly fancier food options.

I prefer the 3 rd base side for afternoon games to get out of the sun, otherwise 1st base.

As I wrote before, I think that there is a need to honor the victims of the Navy Yard shooting, but that opening day is an unfortunate choice of scheduling. In the teams effort to wrap themselves in the flag they've mixed a day of celebration and partying with a somber remembrance.

Another potential advantage to the indoor concourse there is shorter lines for restrooms that are generally extremely clean. Especially useful if you get there early and you wind up having to "sit" at some point.

On Friday I made my annual "scout out the parking" trip to the ballpark to see if any of the parking options not run by the team had changed. My preferred spots all remain exactly as they were. That lot down under the Douglass Bridge is still there, but I don't know what the rate will be this year. The block of R Street heading down the hill to get there is still in atrocious condition, so take it slow when turning onto there.

For those of you who have not driven to the ballpark in a while, don't forget there continue to be changes at the 11th Street Bridge as part of the ongoing construction. I believe the new ramps on the Anacostia side of the river were all open last year and the easternmost segment of the Southeast–Southwest Freeway had already closed (the part between the 11th Street Bridge and Pennsylvania Avenue/the tunnel to RFK). The latter is still closed and won't be open during 2014. The ramps between the bridge and the Southeast–Southwest Freeway have been reconfigured and are in much better shape than they used to be—it no longer feels like the road will collapse under your car. However, you may recall there used to be an exit marked "8th Street SE" that brought you down next to the Marine barracks. That exit is gone.

If you are coming from either I-295, DC-295 (Kenilworth Avenue), or Pennsylvania Avenue, and you want to get to M Street SE past the Navy Yard, the best thing to do is to use the new LOCAL span at the 11th Street Bridge and then hang a left onto M Street. If you're coming south on DC-295 (like from US-50 in Maryland or from Pennsylvania Avenue), you take the exit on the right marked for I-695 TO I-395/Capitol Hill, then immediately after the ramp splits off you exit to the left (I don't remember what the sign says) and make a right at the light. If you're coming north up I-295, you stay to the far right after passing South Capitol Street and take the next exit on the right (again, I don't remember what the sign says) and make a left at the light. Just be careful.....there are still a lot of people who seem confused despite the fairly clear big green signs, probably because they're following outdated sat-nav info.

Generally true comparing the club to the park in general, but the 200 level sections on either side of the club have a small number of seats, so the lines are about the same as in the club.

Those are Infield Club seats that give you access the Stars and Stripes Club. The club is not that fancy but does provide some slightly nicer food options and seating areas. Bathrooms are very nice BUT if it's a big crowd like Opening Day bathrooms can get a bit tight. The club also has heating and AC.

The seats and the sightlines are the real seller here. The seats are wider and padded. The sight lines are very nice in that you are high up enough to see the action but not too high.

Yep, padded seats and they're almost all shaded (just take into account what side of the stadium you're on and the time of the game- the sun sets over the 3rd base side). My grandfather loves them because he can get up as often as he needs and walk around.

You don't have too many people ahead or behind you so less annoying people getting up at inappropriate times (this happens much more often in the 400s/300s).

Stars and Stripes is now Norfolk Southern, no word on decor changes to accompany the new name.

With the new restaurant, red star bar, food options and beers the list of improvements is fairly impressive.

None of that stuff was listed as being in the Norfolk Southern Club, I haven't seen any mention of improvements to the club other than the name change.

Oh, I thought you were referring to upgrades in the club.

Good news from JDLand:

Quote
In 2014, the Nationals removed former lot F from the official inventory. While construction is now happening on the south end of the lot, and may get underway on the rest of it in 2014, it should be available as a cash lot at least at the start of the season.

Seems to be a small cash lot across S. Cap from garage B, haven't seen that before.

Coupon code being promoted on Twitter, doubtful if it is as good as SPHTIX or JR2014 but worth a shot if you are buying online.
