Just saw the video of Pence running off the field after getting traded. Must've been an odd feeling.
From the cellar, to a world champion? I'd be flying high.

Seriously - if the Nats were smart, call him now while he is in a giving mood. They can't want a ton for Bourne.

Can't believe how many Ex- Phillies are on that team...Thanks Ed Wade!

Philly is going to dominate the playoffs. I hate them too, but they are THAT good now.

Personally, I want to see a Boston/Philly World Series

That offense vs that pitching staff

lol - just sayin - I know the nats are in the basement, but they are in a TON better shape then the Astros. Shoot them a few names for Bourne, IMO.

Ditto.  Maybe Rizzoid can trade Des, Flores and Wang to Philly for Pence and Hamels.

HAHA!!! I made myself laugh on that one.

Me too.  Then I could pay attention to the NFL earlier.

I'm not the GM. If I was ...

Seriously, Rizzo calls Wade and says, "Milone and Norris for Bourn"

In the end, we settle on Milone/Norris/Someone else (Alverez, Skole or similar)

Jayson Stark tweeted that the Pence deal happened one year to the day of the Oswalt deal.  Also that the Astros gave the Phillies cash so they could pay the luxury tax now that they're over the threshhold.

Seriously - I'm pretty sure Ed Wade has turned Houston into our minor league affiliate.

And look how that ended up

Losing to the Giants, at home, on a Ryan Howard strikeout

it was BEAUTIFUL

Looking forward to much more of the same

I've just been going on the assumption that Wade lost the will to GM when Brad Ausmus retired.

We are quite close to the Luxury tax threshold - so that was 1/2 the issue this deadline for the Phillies. If the Phillies were eating all the salary, they wouldn't have had to give up as much for Pence.

Seriously, the Phils are swimming in dough. They're easily one of the top 5 richest teams in baseball.
