RT @keithlaw: This rumor that the Nats and Twins are fighting over Steve Lombardozzi Jr - maybe a future utility guy - discredits both organizations.

freak KLaw. Dont give up Lombo, Mike!

Had Law said that Lombardozzi was a future star SF would've applauded Law for keepin it real or channeled PANatsFan's classic  " sanity".

I don't give Bowden any credibility AT ALL, but if by some measure of luck he's right, then this will get really interesting.  Based on Johnson's very tough remarks about Clippard last night, saying he'd leave along with him if the Nats were dumb enough to trade the best middle reliever in baseball, we can pretty much guarantee that Clippard won't be a part of the deal either.  If we can figure out how to land Span without ruining our bullpen or mortgaging the future for an above-average player, I am completely supportive of the trade.

Jeff Kobernus was pinch hit for yesterday and not in the lineup today for the P-Nats.

I just told mach1ne that Kobernus + Bernadina + Storen should get it done.

For those interested in such things, Steve Lombardozzi is in the lineup at second base for tonight's 6 PM game. #Nats

Jeez!  We get it already.  It's ok that you're tremendously overvaluing our players.  These threads allow for differences of opinion.  But you've made like every fourth post in this thread.  It's getting tiring ...

Storen and Shark for Span is a clear win for us.  Adding Lombo (even if he is just a MLB utility player as Law said), is a pretty clear loss for us.

We're starting Bixler in centerfield. We need an "above average" cnterfielder

You won't find many people around baseball who agree with you on that.  This board is full of posters clamoring for a major trade to get done just for the sake of temporary excitement.

Well, I'm not looking for excitement, I'm looking for the Nats to be a better team 2012-2014, and that trade accomplishes that.

By baseball you clearly only mean WNFF.

If the Twins want to be a joke trading a CF for a CLUB. More power to them.

No, the general consensus.

Just because you say other people agree with you, doesn't make it so.

btw, here's an article from a Minnesota paper debating Storen vs Span.

http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/blogs/126306138.html

But of course, only people on WNFF debate the move.

What?  The vast majority of this board wants to trade Storen and/or Clippard and a key prospect for a slight above-average centerfielder.  Most around baseball do not agree.  Those are simply facts.

I wasn't here for the Chief but I'm pretty sure the Nats FO would have been happy to move him for some top prospects before he got injured.

I think we all love Drew and what he does for us but getting a proven ML CFer for him would be a really solid return.

No they don't.

Who says it is? I haven't seen any of the 'experts' saying we should make the move, or criticize us. Maybe they have, I just haven't seen it.

All Ive seen are Twins fans still crying about last year's trade, and this board. But this board nages about every move, no matter what.

The media out herei n Cali doesn't cover it, but like I mentioned earlier, discussing the move with people around me(and everyone around me follow the game, even include experience above the HS level - so they definitely know the game), they wouldn't make the move straight up. And that's before they even know the details of Span's health. The health questions make it even worse.

Facts?  First stop calling bernadina a key prospect. Second : a leadoff cf that plays everyday is more valuable than a closer and 4th of. Deal with it.

At this point, Im of the opinion that no move is a good day. Based on what we're hearing, Storen plus is a PATHETIC trade. If it's Storen for Span straight up, Ill be disappointed but be able to move on. But Storen plus Bernadina and Lombo(or Hood, or anyone else) is a flat out terrible trade.

Twins fans are as pissed as Nats fans are about it, FanGraphs is a big fan of it on our side.
