I never saw that. He had his anti-fan club though (Coladar and PCan).

The Blue Jays have signed Chad Gaudin according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America. Gaudin, 28, was released by the Nationals two weeks ago after pitching to a 3.52 ERA with 8.2 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 in 15 1/3 innings during a minor league rehab stint. He allowed ten runs in 8 1/3 innings for Washington earlier this season.

Still going for that goal of a 20 ERA for the season.

White Sox Designate Brian Bruney For Assignment
By Mike Axisa [August 5 at 10:29pm CST]

The White Sox have designated Brian Bruney for assignment according to Mark Gonzales of The Chicago Tribune (on Twitter). The move frees up a roster spot for Zach Stewart, who will start tomorrow and push Jake Peavy back to Sunday.

Bruney, 29, pitched to a 6.86 ERA with 7.3 K/9 and 5.5 BB/9 in 19 2/3 innings for Chicago this year. Stewart will be making his ChiSox debut after being acquired from the Blue Jays in the Edwin Jackson-Mark Teahen trade last weekend. Peavy appears to be getting an extra day of rest after throwing 115 pitches on Monday, his most since last May.

I had no idea he was still in the league, not to mention actually pitching pretty well.

Nyjer Morgan makes a great throw......I never saw him throw a baseball this far for the Nats

setting;  top ninth Brewers lead Astros 7-5 two outs

Axford gave up a solo homer in the ninth to Astros shortstop Clint Barmes cutting the Brewer lead to 7-5 and then a line-drive single off his leg - a play that ruptured even further when Axford threw the ball down the right-field line in an attempt to get J.B. Shuck at first.

Nyjer Morgan in rightfield saved the play, however, with an incredible rope of a throw to get Shuck at third to end the game.  "I had to show off the pop gun," Morgan said. "I didn't know I had it in myself. I just had to make an accurate throw. It was time to get up out of here."

Glad to see that decision to opt for free agency and sign with the Yanks is working out of Romero.  Oh, wait, no, it's not.  He was released today.  There must be something else going on if the Phils cut him loose, the Nats let him just walk to the Yanks who then just show him the door...

He can join Bruney in 'not being minor league pitchers.'

I heard they signed him by mistake.  They thought his first name was "juliet," and that he was going to put on a one person version of a Shakespeare play.

Capps in with bases loaded, one out, top of 7th.  Almost takes off the classic clean up hitter Pedroia's head, 1 -2,  fastball away 2 - 2. . .

In all of (baseball) history, ne'r has anyone bearing the cursed Capulet name strode onto the field of battle, nor has any ruled over the combatants.  (that means no umps either...)

Marquis is out of the game:

4IP, 9H, 7R, 4ER, 2SO, 2BB, 2HR

I wonder if the D-backs are having a little buyers' remorse.  :)

Nah, much like with Dunn, PA will call him a bum that he always really hated... And he's glad he's no longer a Nat.

Um Dunn is a great person who fell off of a cliff, I always said THAT. Marquis was traded for good value, I think I said that too.

All Dunn has to do is come back to the National League and he will hit again.

For some reason PANatsFan finds something irresistible about Marquis that Dunn does not have. That's why he has a different take on Marquis' 2/3 of a quality start from last night.

I'll believe that when I see it - he's the worst regular player in recent history right now.
