Shrug, maybe I'm wrong about the number of times he was tossed, but there might have been other incidents.  Regardless, my point was that the "fire" he showed against the Yankees didn't really stand out to me.  As you said, feckless.

Well, I wouldn't say it was nothing, but it was mainly just him responding the way he was supposed to.  As someone else was saying in another thread, you don't get credit for the crap you're supposed to do.

That was me

And I agree, Girardi got in his face and he reacted as you would expect a major league skipper to react.

Winston Abreu just made an appearance...for the AAA affiliate of the Blue Jays, the Las Vegas 51s.  He gave up a grand slam to Padres' AAA affililiate, the Tucson Padres.

I mentioned that in another thread.  Pretty funny that the Phillies might get Willingham to fill the void left by our 7-year, no-trade clause $126m man Werth...

Even as a Fillie, I don't think Nats fans would boo Willingham though

If Willingham becomes a Philly he'll just become a bigger lightning rod than he already was.  Hammonds would devote fully 75% of his post to sarcastically proclaiming that we don't need him.

No way, I'd create a cardboard hammer just for him, Willingham is aces in my book.  If he does get traded rest assured he'd get a standing ovation from me.

I don't recall any player who was traded being booed at the park. I do recall several receiving polite applause. Players who were released or opted for another team via free agency are another matter.

Ah yes. I had blocked him from my memory. I now recall booing him myself before and after the trade.

And others will devote 75% of their posts to propping Willingham up as the missing link in our pennant run.

I don't know about all that.  Would Willingham makes this team better right now?  Probably.  Would he keep us from losing 90 games this season?  No.

That's actually not necessarily true. In order to lose 89 games or less, we'd have to win 73 games. Our projected record right now is 74-88, so he could definitely help us with that.

Ronnie is a good guy, I like him. That blackmail thing had to really hurt him.
